  • Is all protein created equal?

I was gonna get the 100% Whey Protein by EAS...but before I do, are all proteins created equal? If not, what makes one beter than the other?

I'd like to find a low sugar one if possible.

I heard "Whey" is the best...Egg is good also...it's always best to mix it up.

"Whey" digests fast, in about 1hr...great for before and after workouts.

At night, before you go to bed, drink Casein Protein because it digests slowly...also add good fats, like Nuts or Olive Oil...fat also increases hormone levels.

Not a big fan of EAS, at least not anymore...Met-Rx is quality stuff, so is Pro-lab, especially Pro-labs N-Large (for weight gain)...I also use Designer since it is actually proven to work, unlike a lot of other companies...Good results, and everybody I know likes it.

There are some top grade quality stuff out there, but they are expensive...Dorian Yates protein powders (which Hatton is siad to use) is supposed to be great stuff...just bought a few boxes myself, but haven't tried them yet.

It is about quality protein...some have Protein Concentrate, others have Protein Peptides (which is better), etc.

I have to agree with others who say that protein is WAY overrated.

If you want to build you simply have to eat MORE of everything. Doctors say protein should be 15% of your diet. So lets say an thelete would want double that, which some would argue is way too much, because you simply piss out excess protein putting lots of stress on your liver.

Protein suppliments should simply be taken to conpescate for the lack of protein content in a given meal..

******* up on it wont do **** for you, just stress the liver.

Seriously, **** most Doctors, they know **** about "Nutrition"...unless of course they are Doctors that specialize in the field.

If you up your protein, you have to up your Fat and Carbs.

You also have to make sure you go by your own genes because if you are trying to follow someone who has a naturally bigger frame and higher hormone levels, you will be **** out of luck...you just have to know what is healthy, what is your peak.

            Thats the point man!

But a lot of people think that just taking on buckets of protein will give you muscle

If you want to take a lot of protein, you need fat and carbs along with it.

Yes, or the Protein goes to waste...it also can dehydrate you, which is bad for the kidneys.

Whey is the predominant protein in human milk. Which is why it is absorbed the best. Egg is easy on the stomach. Soy boosts the immune system and it's the cheapest.

I mix 2 parts whey to 1 part soy.

Supposedly, studies have shown that "Soy" Protein is good for women, but not for males: it raises the estrogen levels, while dropping testosterone levels in males.

                    So, Don't go near it.
