However Baldomir did not have A belt: he was THE champ at 147. huge difference with any belt Williams can gather in the future.
i agree, i think it would depend on who williams gets a shot at for the title, and whether he dominated. he'll probably just get an easier shot at floyd's welter belt when that becomes vacant. there's noone that could beat him i don't think for the wbc belt, mayweather aside. collazo could have a shot, but i don't think he'll fight williams

Why? Because these guys haven't done **** in their careers. Margarito has beat nothing but fringe contenders and is content holding onto his paper title. Cintron has yet to beat a solid top 10 welterweight yet and is another paper champ. Williams also hasn't beat even a top 20 welterweight and has no meaningful titles. He is just a prospect with a lot of hype right now. What do beating guys who have accomplished nothing do for Floyd, a fighter who has accomplished more than these three fighters will do in their careers combined?

When you talk about Sugar Ray Leonard's legacy, no one ever mentions his wins over Green, Lalonde or any other contenders he fought. You talk about his fights with the greats like Duran, Hagler, and Hearns. Floyd will be looked at much more favorably for beating DLH than for beating Margarito, Cintron, or Williams...
OF COURSE IT MATTERS! alright if he stops right after the DLH fight and never comes back hes making a HUGE mistake. i reason it matters because the great fighters fight everyone that poses any challange to them. Ali,leonard, ect fought alot, i know it was different back then, less money per fight, but i honestly think they cared more about having no doubt in the ppls mind that they were the best. PBF has the attitude of Ali(maybe even more so) but IMO hasnt shown what it takes to be a G.O.A.T.

Someone out of these welterweight contenders will stand alone within the next year and a half. If Floyd doesnt fight that person then I will lose some respect for him.

Exactly!! Nice post. But I have already lost a lot of respect for him, due to his attitude. I can't stand Floyd, but you can't deny that he is the best out there, and his skills are unmatched, anyone who says otherwise is in denial. If marg wants to fight him, he shouldn't just sit there and wait for him. After beating clottely, he should take on Williams, then i think he should take on Juddah (given that he gets past williams). After/If he beats those 3 fighters, ONLY THEN the ducking issue would be valid. But, for now I totally agree with the people who say that Marg doesn't deserve the fight.

How do you explian, how Floyd got his fight with Delahoya? Truth be told its been for his Past, accomplishments.

Floyd threw one punch at a time against Baldomier, one ****ing punch, what is Floyd 35.....

he was a mosley nuthugger that switched to cotto, and here he said fighting winky wright or hatton would do something for floyds career, unfortunately once hatton lost it meant nothing then.
