  • Why are people so Upset about Briggs Winning?

I have seen 20967845689 threads about Briggs made by Kid Achilles, I know you lost some money in the bet but please dont take it personally bro, you keep degrading him in every possible way instead of even giving a tiny bit of credit, come on Sergei is a good fighter, before that everyone considered Sergei the second best after Wlad, and now Briggs is being called bare names and how **** he is, etc etc etc. A win is a win, and he won, so lets give him credit, he has a dangerous punch and could surprise in the future.

    1. Wladimir Klitschko
    2. Shannon Briggs
    3. Nikolay Valuev
    4. Oleg Maskaev

the only thing worse than people bitching about him winning are people annointing him the number 2 heavyweight based on getting lucky and beating a petrified pussified opponent in an absolutely boring snail paced fight.

Because Shannon's stamina was laughable... He has a heavy hand and okay counter skills... THATS IT.

I think he made himself look like a total fool by not even being able to celebrate his win after punching 5 punches per round. Even I could throw that many punches for 12 rounds...

I think some of the white huggers are just a little agitated that the all white HW thing didnt last for too long. And its going to be cut down even further, once Maskaev gets KO'd by Peter.

Plus I think that Briggs just may rub people the wrong way, he's kind of a jerk, not to mention thats Briggs being a titile holder is indicative of how poor the division is.

The man has asthma & was trying to catch his breath. I'd like to see how you would do weighing 268 lbs., have asthma, & fight in a 12 round fight. I bet it wouldn't be any better than Briggs. He's not the best heavy but still he deserves credit for beating Sergei because ALOT of posters myself included didn't think he'd win.

Clearly, Briggs has to get his weight and stamina issues under control if he wants to his heavyweight championship reign to last longer than Sergei or the Rocks did. However, I'm glad Briggs beat Liakahovich to win the WBO title. I think Briggs has more charisma than most fighters out there today; is more motivated to fight frequently; and has backed up his intentions of unifying by challenging Klitschko face-to-face. Overall, I think he's better for boxing and the heavyweight division in particular than Liakahovich could have ever been.

what does everyone think about people saying that Sergei was injured going into the fight? If you go to houstonboxingscene.com and scroll all the way down to the bottom you can read about it.
