i'm not saying that margarito is worthy of fighting floyd but why not take his belt if you're floyd, that and even though margarito isn't the biggest named mexican fighter, you ask any mexican what kind of fight they like to see and they'll tell you they like watching another mexican fight a black guy. so even though margarito isn't a hige name the mexican people would show support and buy tickets as well as PPV if they were to fight.

but that don't matter anymore floyd is fighting the biggest mexican name since JCC, even though oscar is mexican-american.
Because instead of fighting Margarito, he's fighting that bum, that 6 division world champion, future hall of famer, Oscar De La Hoya for probably the biggest fight in boxing, ever, or at least one of the biggest fights ever.

i know one thing after this fight Oscar is going from Millionaire to Billionaire. from fight money,PPV, and Promoting money, that's sick cash.

the cash that fight is going to generate is going to be enough for everyone involved to retire, haha, no, but it's going to be sick cash unlike anything before this fight.
most of the money is being made off DLH's name, Mayweather is the weak link as far as cash money draw in this fight, but that will change with all the fight hype.

Regarding Hatton.... Thanks to kfootball for this info

FF: Ricky lets talk Floyd Mayweather. Last we spoke, you told me a fight with Mayweather would only grow into a bigger event as some time passes and that you’d likely meet down the road. Is Mayweather still a fight you want, how badly do you want it, and when would you envision it taking place?

RH: I definitely want the fight against Mayweather, he’s the number one pound for pound fighter in boxing so I really want the fight. But I signed a three fight deal with HBO (Collazo being the 1st in that series) and Mayweather wasn’t part of that deal. The idea was for me to have those three fights in the US so people can see me fight and my name will get built up. We really want the Mayweather fight but it will need to be negotiated. Obviously we’d want to see more money for a fight with Mayweather because the fight would be worth a lot.

I’d like to get the 2nd and 3rd fights of the deal with HBO out of the way and fight Mayweather with a clear head. Obviously I’ve had problems going on outside the ring with my former promoters and things like that. I had my debut at welterweight in America and I think a few more fights under my belt would make the fight even more exciting than it already is.

FF: Floyd Mayweather has said several times in the press in recent months that you demanded 13 Million dollars to fight him. Was such a fight ever discussed and can you comment on the validity of his statement?

RH: I don’t remember saying that exactly, but it was probably something in that region. I think it’s a mega fight worth a lot of money, but that end of it is really up to my father and my team to negotiate. I think it’s a fight people really want to see because people know Floyd moved up to welterweight without fighting the Lt welterweight champion. I think a fight between he and I could be one of the biggest fights to be made in boxing.
So without assumption, Ricky cannot fight Floyd because of a contract he signed... He offered way too much money from the beginning and to reach his goal for money, he wants to get more fights under his belt to make the fight more exciting.

Ricky has 2-3 years before he can offically duck Floyd. But for the record, Mayweather has NOTHING involved in making this fight so quit trying to say it is his fault.

Are you an idiot? In that very interview you quoted Hatton admitted that Mayweather's offer was "somewhere in that region" of 13 million. He priced himself out and why would HBO sign Hatton just so he wouldn't fight Floyd? That would be a big fight. I guess HBO just doesn't want to make any money. Hatton is full of excuses...

Are some of you boys actually dimwitted enough to believe what you're typing? The only reason that anyone wouldn't want to see fights like PBF v Hatton, Cotto, Marg, etc is if they're terrified that Floyd would lose.

I couldn't really give a **** who Floyd fights but if he wants any sort of ATG standing he needs to give a little to make these fights. His pure arrogance in demanding everything exactly on his terms is only hurting himself.

Believe what you'd like about Hatton, etc ducking Floyd but it doesn't really take a lot of thought to realise that he probably new that Hatton was signed to a 3 fight deal and was due in court when he offered the fight for November and if he'd really wanted to make the match, he would have waited the 6 months or so and made the fight earlier this year instead of going with Mitchell and Judah.

You Floyd fanboys really are dumb as dog****.

this thread is the same old tired arguement..... if PBF could find reasons to fight gatti, baldy, zab, bruselles, sosa and corley, then he could find reasons to fight margo, williams, cotto, shane, hatton or who ever else u wanna bring up..... BUT he's fighting oscar now and i'm happy....

He also offered Hatton the fight after he fought Judah and Hatton declined it. We could have seen Mayweather-Hatton on November 4th, but your boy is a flat out *****. Did he have legal problems this November also or was he too focused on a megafight with Juan Urango?

How do you miss the glairing point that Hatton (admittedly) is not and has not been in a position to fight Floyd at any point in the last few years?

Hatton wasn't ready to fight Floyd, and took that 3 fight deal with the intention of looking at a Floyd fight sometime down the road.

Floyd's offered him a fight twice and he has declined twice.

He was tied into the deal then, and signed to fight Collazo.

The court case with Warren was due in late October this year (when he would have been in camp for a 4th Nov fight) but Warren dropped the case at the last minute.

Do you struggle with the concept of time at all?

Anyone who would rather see Margirito v Mayweather than DLH v Mayweather is a functioning ****** at best.
Floyd doesnt need to beat guys like Marigirito to make him an ATG, he needs the mosley's de la hoya's and maybe if cotto/tony beat an A level opponent and Hatton comes out of fighting he will fight them too.
Probably not, becuase he said this is his last fight.
