I have read this book. It's a good read and very insightful, but saome of the fighters are extremely bitter at Ali.

I've just started reading this book tonight! I'm just reading the part about Tyson training to fight Ruddock. Seem's a good book so far.

I've been reading a lot over the past year or so and I've learnt a lot. Some of my favourites are:

            Shadow Box by George Plimpton
Muhammad Ali: His life and times by Thomas Hauser
Joe Louis: The brown bomber by Joe Louis Barrow jr.
King of the world by David Remnick
Pound for pound by Herb Boyd
            Henry Cooper: The autobiography

And for some reason I've been reading Audley Harrison's autobiography,'Realising the dream'. Don't ask me why lol.

They Could’ve Been Contenders by Jim McNeill
Night train,The Sonny Liston story by Nick Tosches
The tao of Muhammad Ali by Davis Miller
King of the world by David Remnick
I've read a few unlicenced boxing/bareknuckle books as well but the pick of the bunch for me was They Could’ve Been Contenders.

Recent books I've read are Dark Trade: Lost in Boxing by Donald Mcrae-really good book, focuses in depth on the lives of many boxers. Mike Tyson, Chris Eubanks, Gerald Mclellan, Nigel Benn, James Toney, Roy Jones, Oscar De La Hoya, Gabe Ruelas, Rafael Ruelas, Julio Cesar Chavez, and many more. This book gives you insight on why some of these boxers are the way they are.

Another is Blood In My Coffee by Ferdie Pacheco. This book was ok, it got annoying sometimes because of the braggart nature of the author. Toots too much about what he did for boxing and how many people dismissed his issues about the sport. Kinda brings that quote to mind, 'Never do a good deed and brag about it, otherwise you haven't done a damn thing, but something for yourself'.

I'm currently reading America On The Ropes, by Wayne A. Rosen, an overall of the Jack Johnson-Jim Jeffries fight and the issues of racism sorrounding it.

Also reading Eight Count, book about the life of Jesus 'El Matador' Chavez.

I just got my copy of The Devil and Sonny Liston in the mail. I read this book about five years ago and really enjoyed it, but I lost my copy and wanted to read the book again so I picked up a used copy on Amazon.com. Just flipping through it reminds me how good a read it was. Nick Tosches should write more books about boxing, I like how he goes into detail about the seedy underworld and behind the scenes business in boxing.

Dark Trade and Beyond the Ring would have to be held in high regard in this club, would'nt you agree?
