tua can punch, but hes not all that good at delivering it. and with tyson's speed and head movement, tua wouldnt be able to touch him.

tua's not all that special outside of his power and chin.

    tyson by UD.

It doesn't matter what version of Tyson it is, there's no way he's walking through Tua and stopping him in 2 rounds. Tua has taken too many shots off too many big punchers too often for that to seem remotely possible. I'd put Tua second only to Oliver McCall in terms of best heavyweight chin in the past 15 years or so.

Ike Ibeabuchi was throwing about 90 punches per round for the first 4 rounds in their fight. Tua never showed any signs of real hurt. He smiled at Lennox's punches. Took a big Lennox uppercut, which i'm sure is as good as Tyson's was. I don't care if Tua has never won a major belt, his qualities would still have given Tyson trouble. No way Tua is getting blown away by anyone, unless someone enters the ring with a couple of *******s.

David Tua got out boxed by Rahman....twice

Tyson has much more skill. He also had a better chin than you all give him credit for. Someone actually shorter than Tyson. This is a perfect opponent for him.

Ike hit him hard and often early in their fight, with no effect. I'm not saying Ike hit as hard as Tyson, but he was hardly a soft puncher either.

Tyson was a very hard puncher, very quick and accurate, but there's some guys who will not go down. Oliver McCall sparred endless rounds with Tyson without ever going down or being hurt, I know it was only sparring, but still....

Tua had no fear, strong chin, and he'd be connecting with some shots back on Tyson, his overhand rights were pretty quick. Everyone has their own opinion, but I personally can't see Tua being stopped.

Tyson wins by UD. He's too fast and powerful in his prime for the slow sluggish Tua.

Tua would have ended up KO'd very early.

Now if you are talking about the "post Robin Givens" Tyson, then we have an entirely different scenario, Tyson no longer had the desire or the will to attack like it was a life or death match, and most likely Tua would have a chance to take Tyson into the later rounds.

At that point, the reason why Tyson is NOT an ALL TIME GREAT would show. You see my friends, Tyson has never been special after the 5th Round, he just never had the ability to think and fight after he got tired. Sad but true. Tua would have a better chance as the fight went on...

Some pretty sound analysis from SoundTraveler.
