So for you to say someone is at a genetic disatvantage it depends what you mean. Most europeans are strong then Africans. Africans are leaner faster, stronger no...So it all balances out.


But even to say that white Americans are at some genetic disatvange is odd, because America is a melting pot. You got people from Irish to Italian intermixed and so on...


I just dont believe in genetic superiority in boxing. It seems to balance out, if a Euro stronger, then an African is faster. Both important factors right? Now its down to hard work and skill to take advantage of those "genetics" gifts.

lol white hope in tommy z. i saw that fight and tho he looked good it was his first fight against someone that was 2-2 and i think 1. not sure how he is at football but if he is any good he will go to the NFL and there goes his boxing career. to top it off 3 of the 4 HW title holders are white.... i did like the movie the great white hype, which fits very well in this stituation

Personally there should be a hunt for Black Hopes, and not white hopes. 90% of the "name" fighters currently in the sport are not Black. They are white, hispanic, mexican, filipino, etc. Top African American fighters are really on the decline in boxing, as other races and countries are taking over the sport.

The phrase white hope is a dead phrase in my opinion.

the problem is black people dont care too much. this makes the concept kinda dumbfounded, i dont believe in "hopes" anymore, its outdated.

"Great White Hope" specificaly refers to a white American...Euros are of no relivance here. It's an American created terms.

In Europe boxers are European, so its common there to see European champions lol...No one goes around there saying "Great White Hope" when all you see most of the time is white guys in the ring.

Asian, being a writer is a great thing that you do, but you dont have to do it by using racist terms and controversey. I saw your other thread about boxing being morale, let me tell you that it is. To me the great white hope is an old mochery brought forth by hatred and ill will. Leave that in the past and look into the future about writing something with some substance.
