I didn't laugh. If you made a joke about the Floyd pic where it looks like he's gonna kiss Merchant in my sig that may have been funny.

Floyd has one of the best defenses of all time, and I dont think Duran could penentrate it effectivly.

....not to mention that Mayweather has fewer technical flaws.

And i still say that those fighters gave Mayweather hell.
            we ll have to disagree

agreed I was making the comparison only in terms of showing up but not bringing it all. Duran is a whole different animal

I think you're hyping Hatton a bit too much, but you never know. Imo, Mayweathers style easily defeats Hatton, and of course he'd pot shot and move out of the way fast.
The reason I am curious to see Hatton is because of one thing i noticed from the zoo fight (not the wrestling skills): Part of Hatton's plan was closing the distance to never be on the end if zoo's right hand. Hatton executed perfectly. Zoo is not Mayw. so it does not mean he can also be on top of the mayw. the whole time, but most than most of his other opponents did.
Secondly when at mid-range and inside Hatton throws punches with angle (look at how his body is rotating on a tilted axis for most punches he throws)
those two things make me think mayw.-hatton would be more interesting than any other fight. (I think marg. is too slow and does not have Castillo skills to make up for it (I think Castillo skills are ridiculously underestimated... when everyone says oh why dont you just boxe him, you are taller, and no one manages to box him, you have to wonder why), Oscar will gas out as he does since 2000 or so, Spinks would box and not push the action, Cotto is not fast enough either i think, I have a big question mark on Mosley, because I dont know what mosley can do as of now, but he would have been lots of trouble with that speed)

Talking about defence, isn't Benny Leonard a defensive wizard too? I've read and seen a few segments on him. They say he was a slick fighters too.

Like you said, if Benitez had trained for his fights he would have been even greater. He had talent. I dont' think anyone else will ever break his record for being the youngest Champion.
he would make people mis A LOT and make it look absolutely effortless. did you see SRL in beyond the glory, saying that he could not believe there was someone on earth who was making him miss so many punches?

I doubt that anyone will ever beat his record, and it is a sign of progress, that you dont see 17yo fighting 15 rounders dont you think?

I dont know much about Benny Leonard, I might have seen a bit of a fight on ESPN classic but that's it. I read quite incredible things on him (getting out of the ring with every hair in place...lol).

Anyway I always like to mention willie pep because he is italian

The sheer, atavistic savagery, of the young duran was an awesome sight. duran would rough up mayweather and give him a beating.
