    Kessler offers Calzaghe $3,4 mill.!

Kessler today will offer Calzaghe US$3,4 mill to meet him in Copenhagen. .
Team Palle also gave Warren the British TV rights. (If he takes the offer.)

This will by far be Joe's biggest purse ever.

Joe what excuse will you come up with now ?. So far it has been money. With the offer of 4 belts on the line plus by far the biggest purse of his life.. I cannot imagine he can find more excuses

Joe and some of his fans have used the "Kessler isn't a big name, who is Kessler?" excuse to death.
Well, that name is now putting 3.4 mill on the table to Joe. Win, lose, or draw

1.7 million UK Pound. Hmm. Not sure I would risk a fight in Denmark. Might get robbed (no offence intended to Danes, of course).

Naaar,i think it is a bigger chance to be robbed in Germany. But if Calzaghe not will travel to Denmark so most Frank Warren come up with a offer to Kessler to fight in UK

Well, he has fought in Denmark before.

If this offer is genuine (and some random on an internet site posting a link to a story in a foreign language (that I can't even access) doesn't make it genuine), then I think it might just happen - even in Coopenhagen. Not that I think it should be up to the champion to travel and make it happen but there we go.

I'd be a good fight, i've heard good things about Kellsser. But, wouldn't Kellsser have to work out an agrement with Librado Andrade, since Kellser has to defend against Andrade next?

Isn't he super-duper champion or some such? I've long since given up trying to understand.

When would the fight take place though? Kessler won't be fit until March which means he won't be able to fight for a while after that and Joe's looking at 3 fights in 2007 (I'll believe that when I see it!). It doesn't quite fit unless the ridiculous rumours of Manfredo in February are actually true, which I can't quite see somehow.

£1.75 seems an awfully small amount for a 4 title clash. Considering Mayweather earned £4.6 million odd just for fighting Baldomir.

It makes much more sense holding this fight in the UK anyway.

Kessler has to fight his WBC mandatory Andrade, doesn't he?

Joe would probably earn much more with a fight against Taylor.

Yes he would - much more. I guess it depends when Taylor is available. Or for that matter when Kessler is. Given his injuries I can't see it happening in the first half of next year, at which time a much bigger name might well be around.

Even Palle thinks that the fight would generate more money for both in the UK. This is probably just a token gesture on their behalf.

Kessler's promoters do seem quite prone to performing publicity stunts.

To be honest Joe should be looking at £4 million at the least from this fight, where ever it is held.

Well there were rumours flying around just before the Beyer fight that they were in severe financial difficulties. I wonder what's changed since then.

I can't see Joe getting £4m unless it's a) in the US or b) a big name that fills the Millennium Stadium. Both are indeed entirely possible but the latter might be possible with Kessler if only for the belts.

I suppose Taylor at the Millennium Stadium is too much to hope for though. That would be epic.
