This fight should'nt happen. Calzaghe is getting old, he needs to make big fights now while he can. Jermaine Taylor Vs Calzaghe would be good. Maybe this fight can happen after the Ouma fight? Let's see... That would be an interesting fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Winky challenges Calzaghe also.

The fights in the contender are fake. They look as they're scripted to make them seem more dramatic. I only watched the second season but nobody ever seems to win every round in dominating fashion, they always go back and forth in total contrast to when they fought for real at the staples center and Bravo was totally shut out and the second fight was also pretty much one sided if I remember correctly.

I dint think this fight happens, if it does Manfredo would get demolished and they know that. If Manfredos people are willing to just cash out against a top guy its going to be Taylor, Lacy or most likely Jones because it would be bigger here in the US and more money.

this is a bull**** fight. here it goes again with calzaghe trying to get another fighter in the ring with him that isnt ready for a fight with joe. as much as i like manfredo jr he isnt on the level quite yet to fight calzaghe.

it seems that joe and frank like finding guys that are either too old to fight on a world class level or guys that aren't there yet in their careers. they keep picking them too soon or too late, no one is in their prime and is a direct threat. everyone thought that lacy was a threat because of his power, but his skill level he wasn't even close. it's warren match making at it's best, smoke and mirrors.

why not fight kessler and try and own the division, then go after who ever else from there.

manfredo jr. needs to fight some other world class fighters before fighting calzaghe, joe has too much experience and is better skilled at this point, it wouldn't be a completely fair fight.

who knows the same thing i guess could be said for kessler, but the thing there is kessler holds the WBA and WBC SMW belts.
manfredo has two losses to mora and a win over pemberton and spina. he aint ready. although i thought that he won against mora in the second fight. manfredo isnt ready for a fighter like joe, not yet at least.

this is frank and joe finding the path of least resistance.

Kessler is currently injured I believe, and has to fight a mandatory anyway, so I guess Calzaghe has to look elsewhere.

Manfredo is not a fight anyone should want though. Taylor, Wright or one of the titlists at 175 are all better options.

Well as somebody as already pointed out, Kessler has his own mandatory fight and is also injured. So, Joe looks unlikely to fight him any time soon. If the Taylor fight happens, he will need to be active and so needs to fight someone in February.

You are absolutley right on that. I've seen just one episode of this show in the UK and the fight was exactly as you described. However, this may well be due to the editing to make it more exciting then it really is. With smart editing, you can make the most boring fight look like a brawl.

right on i didn't know that kessler was injured or was being forced to fight his mandatory.

but you're a 100% on the other names, he shouldn't even be entertaining the idea of fighting anyone else but the list of names you mentioned.

                    thanks for the info.
