Well to make it fair...Margarito vs Williams, and the winner fights floyd, fair enough?

I can see Williams presenting much more of a problem for Floyd than Margarito.

Fine by me. I just want to see some good fights. Why not fight both if you believe yourself to be the best?

If Mayweather Jr beats De La Hoya, it's IBHOF for the man and all-time great status, IMO. If he beats De La Hoya AND Hatton (after the Hitman gets rid of Castillo impressively in the summer), you could argue he's the best ever on skill as well as everything else.

Floyd vs Margarito and Williams would be a LOSE LOSE Situation, if floyd beats them, they will say Margarito fought bums and has 4 losses to bums, williams too inexperienced, onedimensional, overrated, who did williams fight before floyd, and if floyd loses, a bum like margarito beat floyd the p4p king, williams is a nobody yet he beat him, etc etc,

Hatton would be a good fight because beating Hatton would make Floyd the linear champion in the light welterweight division, which would mean floyd is the linear champ in all 4 divisions, and Hatton is undefeated and fought some names, beat Kostya Zoo, fought 3 straight world championships bouts and now the 4th one (IBF belt, then WBA belt, then Welterweight version of WBA, then IBF again)

Oscar and Mosley fights are important not only for the money but most of all Legacy, those are NAMES

We all said Hatton was something special when he was 18/19. He's still never lost, he's beat Kostya Tszyu, he's going to get rid of Castillo impressively, and that is the fight of the era - Hatton and Mayweather.

As much as I hate to say this, I agree with you.

The thing is he wont get any credit for that and the other fighters wont bring anything to the table, now should Margarito beat williams atleast hes done something, should williams win he beat Mitchell and Margarito, is the WBO Champ and Unification can happen with WBC and WBO titles on the line.

See, that's what I don't understand about Floyd and most of today's fighter in comparison to yesterday's legends. Ray Robinson cleaned out the welterweight division, fighting Zivic before he'd even been pro for a year...or just over a year, if memory serves me correctly. He wanted to prove he was the best and went through the divison like a weedeater through the underbrush, leaving no stone unturned. At Middleweight, he takes on LaMotta, Graziano, Turpin, Olson, Fulmer, Basilio, etc.

What's wrong with expectin Floyd to clean out the divsiions he claims to conquer? If you want to be "a legend", you don't have to be proded into taking on the best...you want to show you're the best, not just "tell everybody" you're the best....freakin' show them.

That just chaps my ass about today's fighters, and, in this case, Floyd. Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk...then, "show me the money!". Naw, man. Do you want to be rich or famous? Do you want to prove you're the best of all time or not?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with getting paid a buttload of money for your performance; but the win and the names on the gun belt are what makes a legend a legend...not how much money they retire with. History or Hypery; which do you want?

That was always my problem with De La Hoya. He was always jumping divisions ala an old Leonard.....but at least he did take on the best, even if he didn't beat them all in their prime, or at all.
