His performance against Barkley is up there with the best displays of skill and talent I've seen.

      re geoffhayes:
it seems i've discussed toney - barkley like a thousand times. no one understands the circumstances behind it.

iran was coming back down from 178 in his previous bout (and 174 prior to that when he fought hearns) and had nothing left. similar to toney being weighy drained for jones. now, toney probably beats barkley regardless, but iran didn't give himself the best chance coming down in weight in less than two months.

Oh, I agree. But you can show skill on a punchbag, and Toney showed he was special, better than anybody thought, against a highly-motivated Iran.. not because of the opponent, but the performance.

Source? I don't believe that for one second, he's arguably got the best defense of all time, and the Mayweather team, especially his uncle, wouldn't put anybody ahead of Floyd Mayweather, never mind the best aspect of his boxing ability.

I have heard sources that support his argument from Jeff Mayweather Sr., Mayweather's uncle.

I find it hard to swallow, but I'll take your word for it.
