If you disagree that Mayweather Jr is not in the class of Sugar Ray Leonard, a young Michael Nunn, Sweet Pea and the James Toney that fought Barkley then please, go **** yourself.

In comparison, he's probably on the same level as Sweet P, give or take, but I disagree with him being level with Leonard.

        Hmmm.

At Jr. Lightweight and Lightweight, I agree he's in the same class as Toney was at Middle and Super-Middle; he far surpasses Nunn, IMO. Sweet Pea is a maybe; but it's a good comparison because they are essentially the same type of fighter. Leonard...not yet. We saw Leonard go to war, fall behind, and pull it out against an opponent of equal calibre...we saw Ray's heart. We also saw how Ray responded to his first loss, something Floyd hasn't had to do yet. Floyd's got the talent; but it's the intangibles we don't know about yet. Whittaker showed his true grit in his loss to Trinidad in the twilight of his career....we haven't seen how bad Floyd wants it yet because he has been outclassing his competion.

        So: Nunn.....Floyd's better.
        Whittaker....maybe
        Toney....probably
        Leonard...not yet

I think he's up there or very close behind Leonard. Leonard was a natural welterweight anyway I believe unlike Floyd.

He definently isn't as high as a SRR or Ali or anything like that.

He has to fight longer to have a chance to be at that level IMO.

A Leonard - Mayweather fight would be nuts... No matter what, you couldn't convince me that this wouldn't be a really clsoe fight.

Nunn was the most talented fighter of his era. No question.

He lost my support with the Barkley fight. He had the talent; but was short in the intangibles.....that's why Toney beat him, even though Michael was ahead. Toney wanted it more.

Talent is one thing, that's breeding and genetics, and training to an extent. True champions are champions through and through...and that's a quality that can only be tested in the trenches when the chips are down.

Skill wise, I would say yes, but accomplishments, hes not close to Sugar Ray.
