he is the best fighter in the world so yes he is the man at 140. And the only reason someone could say otherwise is because Ricky is too gay and don't want to fight him after watching that live beating of gatti in person.

That's nonsense. you can't be the "best fighter in the world" as a theoretical concept. Regardless of why the fight was or wasn't made, and regardless of whether or not he could beat Hatton, he WON'T be a real champion at 140 until he fights and beats Hatton, just like he's only a paper champ at 147 until he beats Baldomir.

Hes as much paper champ as much as ricky hatton didint want to fight him after his fight with tszyu and after floyds fight with gatti which would have been a perfect unification bout. Hatton and his team asking for 13 million is rediculous, Hatton and his team confirming that saturdays fight could have been against hatton but "were gonna go ahead and defend against otay urkal"..come on man.

That doesn't make Hatton the paper champ though. A champ who isn't fighting the best competition, maybe (Urkal is just a warm-up and publicity fight for Castillo, why can't people grasp this very simple concept??) but still The Champ regardless.

You would say that coming from London!! Ricky ain't fought nobody since. When will he ever fight significant fighters consecutively. hell can he fight atleast 2 accomplished fighters in his boxing lifetime. Floyd is da man and everyone else is in his shadow from 160 and down. So again yeah, Floyd was the man at 140 and could easily be the man again if he ever chooses to go back there.

So why does The Ring say Hatton is "the Champion" at 140 then? Or do theoretical constructs now affect what goes on in the ring?
