Exactly. For the first 3 rounds Floyd was trying to set up the straight right with his jab, which wasn't really working at all. Judah had Floyd's jab timed pretty well and was countering off of it.

Floyd adjusted and started leading with the straight right and followed it with a lefthook (also after some very nice body work by Floyd), which Judah had absolutely no answer for.

People tend to think that it was Judah running out of steam, rather than the brilliant adjustment that Floyd made during this fight.

Floyd in that fight just showed why he is who he is...

he adjusted to a style that was unorthodox and a fighter who was probably quicker and more powerful than he was....

something wasn't working, and he changed things around to make something else work...

people act like Judah won the fight sometimes because he won 3 rounds....

Floyd saw he had to walk Judah down with lead right hands and force Judah to retreat to his (Judah's) right...nice body work by Floyd too


there are a million "if he fought this way...." scenarios fans can make for thousands of fight in history...but at the end of the day it is what it is...

i agree with realheavyhands on forrest - mayweather. styles make fights, vernon was a 6'0'' welterweight who had an incredible right hand and right uppercut. don't be foooled by his performances with mayorga and his fights at 154. he is shot due to age, inactivity, and most of all - injuries.
