It makes no sense whatsoever to suggest Hatton wouldn't want to fight Mayweather, it just doesn't make any sense! Who WOULDN'T want to fight Mayweather?? He's at the top of the tree FFS. Sorry, it just doesn't make any sense. Hatton would absolutely love a shot at him.

If that is the case then why is there always rumors out of the UK that he is known as Ricky Fatton and I've seen him blown up after fights. He might make weight but I don't know that its easy. And the reason he doesn't want to fight Mayweather is that little 0 at the end of his record. There are plenty of guys who have 1 loss but few who are respected and are undefeated. Losing that 0 makes the rest of his career significantly less valuable. He loses the US appeal when the O goes.

it makes sense when he was already offered a fight and priced himself out. don't get me wrong i would love to see this fight it would be one of the biggest fights as of late. hatton just needs to take the fight now instead of saying he needs more tune ups or he'll be ready by next year and by not asking for 13 mil. would help too.

Ricky Hatton has never made an effort to make the fight happen. First he said he wanted to build up his name in the U.S. I'm not sure how fighting Urango does anything but bring your name down. Then he says three fights and he'll be ready. Then he says next year. How long are you going to blindly believe this crap?

The fact of the matter is Hatton and his team are trying to make the most money possible without putting his unblemished record at risk. Sure, Castillo is a risk but Hatton has a pretty damn good shot of beating Castillo. Hatton would be a major underdog against Mayweather and, frankly, I don't think Hatton himself believes he can beat Mayweather. I think Collazo shook up his confidence...

Just to confirm, that's not actually the FACT of the matter, is it, really? It's more the subjective opinion of the matter.

Look, I ain't hot on the Paler, but the amount of crap that gets posted on here about him makes any Hatton discussion obsolete. If the guy completes his career without ever fighting any dangerous opponents (quite ironic when you think about what Floyd is currently doing, but that's another story...) then we can all slag him off.

But I still believe that he may increase his profile in the States by beating Castillo (Urango is just a warm-up), then maybe go back for Floyd when he's on a more level playing field. (ie when he can command a fairer sum of the cash).

I believe this because I'm a naive idealist who believes that the top fighters want to fight each other and will.
