and alll the mma guys diss boxing saying its boring...i know cause im around them all the time, i go to the bar and no one gives a crap about the 2 mexican guys boxing on the tv...but when ufc comes on they stay glued to the screen and say ohhhh ahhhh!
If they find 2 guys hugging for 15 minutes more exciting than 2 guys pummelling each other, then that says a lot for their intelligence, and possibly about their sexual orientation...

I prefer to think that BOTH boxing as well as MMA has it's own function in the world of fighting. While boxing goes through it's lulls from decade to decade, now, with the addition of UFC and Pride and very soon a new show too, MMA can fill a void in a time when Boxing is at a lull in some divisions.

That said, the sport of Boxing will not die out, it is a proven, time tested winner and if you ask 100 people who the most famous "Boxer" of all time is - all 100 people will have an answer. However if you ask the same 100 people who the most famous "MMA" fighter of all time is, chances are fewer than 20% will even have an answer at all. MMA has a LONG WAY TO GO before it is even in the ballpark with name recognition or worldwide interest in it's participants compared to Boxing...

something they can relate to right?

        its the harsh reality
OMG, What the hell is wrong with you? You need to go hang your self. White people, excuse me people in general have enough to worry about without ignorant bastard like you runin around shootin there mouth off. You need to get out of the little world your livin in and check out a thing called real life.
Being a part of this sport not just yapping aout it on the internet I will tell you "though I regret having to" From the governing bodies an officials to the fans Boxing is predominatley white. Ass hole. Which I as a white man regret the competition and contributions to the sport need to be diversified. You also need to look at the bigger picture. Who in europe cares about MMA? Boxings birthplace and a stronghold for centuries. I doubt MMA would compete even in Japan Dollar for Dollar. You are claiming a fad will take over a traditional dynasty as far as combative athletics is concerned. WTF you must be from Orange county trendy lil bastard. And you want to throw race into the scenario?? slap yourself

              and the ratings prove it...

I like mma and boxing but BOXING is dead....

Its all the greedy promoters faults....they are dumb they could of made more money showing free fights 2 times a month on a regular station like ABC, NBC, CBS etc....but they want that quick fix from a ppv.

              its lame.
