and alll the mma guys diss boxing saying its boring...i know cause im around them all the time, i go to the bar and no one gives a crap about the 2 mexican guys boxing on the tv...but when ufc comes on they stay glued to the screen and say ohhhh ahhhh!

If they find 2 guys hugging for 15 minutes more exciting than 2 guys pummelling each other, then that says a lot for their intelligence, and possibly about their sexual orientation...

I prefer to think that BOTH boxing as well as MMA has it's own function in the world of fighting. While boxing goes through it's lulls from decade to decade, now, with the addition of UFC and Pride and very soon a new show too, MMA can fill a void in a time when Boxing is at a lull in some divisions.

That said, the sport of Boxing will not die out, it is a proven, time tested winner and if you ask 100 people who the most famous "Boxer" of all time is - all 100 people will have an answer. However if you ask the same 100 people who the most famous "MMA" fighter of all time is, chances are fewer than 20% will even have an answer at all. MMA has a LONG WAY TO GO before it is even in the ballpark with name recognition or worldwide interest in it's participants compared to Boxing...

Everywhere I go I see these white boys with there tap out shirts and talking about how they can ground and pound an wrestle a guy....i never seen fight sports so popular i was one of the few watching BOXING and older ufc....but it seems UFC crushed boxing becuase all these wanna be tough frat boys now walking around in the mall talking about it...

and the ratings prove it...
