The best place I have found online for discussing MMA is a sub forum of the DVDVR boards.

I agree with this one hundred percent.

Boxing is not dying. Look at the PPV buy rates. It's having one of it's best years in a long time. Look at the dollars and cents. The UFC (and to a lesser degree MMA as a whole) has made in roads, but they are a different sport.

boxing ppv buy rates are not impressive! you mean ufc is having the best ppv rates ever! ufc rates have been 775,000-600,000 ppv buys a show!

the last few boxing ppv besides oscar vs mayorga have done 65,000-150,000 i think not very good.

MMA is and will continue to be boxings little brother. The UFC is exciting, btu it lacks substance. One can only watch two half naked men wrestle for 15to 30 minutes for so long. I like to watch people get beat up, but I'm not much a fan of seeing mutha****as get choked and get they **** broke, I don't see much sport in that, but that is the major appeal of the sport, it looks like something anyone on the street can do, which if you have any sense, you know you can't. But in my opinion, you can take the baddest mutha****a in each weight class in teh UFC and have them lace up the gloves against a mid level contender and they will get laid out... UFC isn't a sport, it's legalized fighting...
well butterbean is an mma fighter now and he sucks. ima boxing and mma fan. i train muay thai and believe me a boxer will definately not have a walk in the park against a muay thai boxer in a stand up match.

Your right, UFC is not a sport, MMA is. And as for legalized fighting, maybe when it first started when it was 3 rules, but now its legit. Plus Pride is so much better than UFC.

i doubt most people in tha uk could name a single MMA fighter and i dont think it will ever be more than a minority sport here.

lol! you know, i've been saying that for years. what makes it even worse, they were skin tight underwear while they're "at it."

well, i disagree completely. who is fighting who would certainly be more important than what they're fighting with. some thai guys just suck - as some boxers suck.

Butterbean isn't anywhere among even the top 200 heavyweights in the world. Not even close.
