hmm I think Foreman... there would a super small chance of Louis getting KOed by some bomb (from wlad)

Holyfield for me. He's shown he can be more than competitive with very good big HW's in the Bowe trilogy and the 2nd Lewis fight, even though he was past his prime. Both of those guys would murder any of the current crop.

Wlad would have a fair chance at outboxing Foreman and KOing Louis but I can't see him beating Holyfield, he has no real weaknesses.

I wanted guys under 6'5...today's fighters are considered these "Giants" because they are 6'5+ , so the max height I wanted to do is 6'3 1/2, which is Foreman, who was once considered a "Giant" back in his day, but might not now.

From the list provided, I'd have to go with Joe Louis. Louis was, quite possibly, the finest technician yet seen at heavyweight. Heavyweights, as a general rule, rely more on power than finese, which is why a former middleweight without a big punch is able to get wins over these guys. Louis was tight in his defense, exact in his punches, and worked with a sugeon's precision. His power was also well above average, even for his size, which is considered smallish by today's standards.

Foreman wasn't that great of a technician and his style of attack wouldn't be as effective as some think against today's giant heavies, whereas Louis would be able to find the holes in their armor and capitalize on every opening.

Dempsey's style wouldn't be that effective, IMO, though he could surely get some wins, overall, I can see him getting manhandled....same with Tyson. Mike would be able to get some of these guys out of there; but he always had trouble with tall fighters, so this era would be no different. Win a championship both Dempsey and Tyson could probably do; but dominate they would not.

Holyfield was a great counterpuncher; but his defense wasn't great, and he couldn't wrestle these big men the way he did Tyson, nor did he have enough heavyweight power to knock them out. If he had trouble with Bowe, you can bet he'd have trouble with Klitschko.

There's probably better choices as an answer, but I could certianly see someone like George Godfrey being dominate in today's heavyweight division had he been around to compete in it...Might lose the odd one here and there, but one-on-one, I would at least favour him over any of the heavyweights from today.

Louis is the only one I can't imagine losing to at least one of today's guys.

As a pick I would say Foreman simply because of his size, strength and power against the big fighters of today.

However to be honest I would pick any fighter off that list to dominate the poor heavyweight division of today, add into that Frazier, Liston, Lewis, Holmes and possibly four or five other former champions of any repute!

I would love to see Valuev against a big box puncher like say Lennox Lewis or Rid**** Bowe because in my opinion they would destroy him!

I am not going to use Ali because I want to see a list without him for once, and it might be a bit to easy to pick him...

Also, you can even think of it like this, it is more about their size and natural/raw ability, plus the use of today's nutrition and knowledge of the boxing "art"

Ex: Joe Louis could possibly have been 225lbs solid and still been effective

The ranked heavyweights of today are just a bunch of big, fat, lazy slobs with mediocre talent, and mediocre skill. All of the men on that list would dominate and knockout these bums and make it look easy. Dempsey won the title at 187 and beat the crap out of Jess Willard. He would do the same thing to Klitschko, Valuev, Briggs, and all the rest of those oversized under performing imposters.
