You make good points, and I am not saying he shouldn't have fought Williams. I beleive he should have and I beleive by not fighting him hurts his case, but I also feel that even if he were to fight him andd win than people would say the same things about Williams as they said about Cintron when he beat him. At the time Cintron was a tough up and coming prospect with power and people were saying that he too had a bright future at the time. I agree he should have fought him, but it kind of seems like a lose lose for him. If he wins people are gonna say Williams was young and green and if he loses than he takes a step back. This scenario is more of a win win for William because if he wins that will boost him even more and he will have a win over a legit stron welter and if he has a good showing and loses than that is still positive for him. I am not making excuses for Margarito, because he should fight Williams but you can't say that doesn't make sense.

I don't know if Margarito will get much credit if he beats Williams, but I do know he will get a lot less credit for beating Clottey...

All Williams has is a win over a very unknown Martyse and a jr. welterweight Mitchell.

Clottey has already fought Baldomier and Guiterez. Guiterez was a better opponet then Martyse and Mitchell.
