Actually yeah, uninformed people should just know their role nd be quiet. The ******ity I hear out of some people who don't know what they're talking about is outrageous.

Spare me the "ugh", uninformed people are entitled to their opinions as long as they keep them to themselves. I'm deadly serious. How can a boxing forum be taken seriously when you've got something like 70% of people expressing opinions (as in Lacy-Calzaghe) without even doing minimal research?

There used to be a time - I'm going back to 2005 now - when the only people who posted in NSB, generally, were people who at least knew whereof they spoke, and did at least minimal research. I actually didn't say much about the Lacy-Blow fight because I'd only seen three bouts of each fighter, and thought I wasn't informed enough to post too many opinions on it, which is laughable in context.

How can this forum be taken seriously when you've got posts that should remain in the kindergarten like "Lacy will PWN Cal***gy - Cal***gy FEARS him" and threads like "Is Calzaghe Wales-ish?" It's just pure 100% moron fodder and makes this site look like a joke.

You're right about all that, and it is part of the reason the forum is not as useful as it should be. There are some VERY knowledgeable boxing people here; I admit to not being one of them. I am a fan, and I read a hundred posts for every one I write (look at my count). More people should practice that discretion. The problem is you have to root through twenty bull**** posts of the kind you mention to get to something informative or insightful.

Why would either fighter want to ruin their undefeated status before they get into some big money figts with the American fighters like Jones, Tarver or Hopkins or Taylor or Wright? I would wager both figters could beat most of the Ameicans. After they have made their cash they should make a deal.

Yeah, I mean, I can't say I've always spoken 100% sense, but for people to post stuff in NSB (and not in the lounge/Thunderdome) like "boxer A FEARS boxer B"... I mean, just **** off back to junior school, you know what I mean? There DID used to be a time, as I said earlier, where this place was 80% boxing talk, and not, as it sadly is now, 50% nursery creche.

anyone have any beef with the refereeing?

very lazily reffed fight by mickey vann. not neccessarily your picture perfect ref but I've never seen him allow so much useless clinching.

If it's draining Calzaghe to make weight, he's in for a long night. Kessler's a beast, and he's very fast and works from behind a stellar jab. That's everything Lacy failed to bring. Kessler is a very tough fight for Cazlaghe.

But the bottom line here is that this fight NEEDS to happen. Calzaghe said last week he's aiming to break the defenses record, which means he's staying at 168.

Kessler just unified the WBC and the WBA. He's the clear and obvious choice for Calzaghe to be fighting with supremacy in the division at stake.

Fishing for Hopkins or any other Lt Heavy to drop to 168 is a joke.

This fight is a must for the Supper Middleweight division.
