Lacy probably has more power than Kessler, but he has less skill. It does not matter how much power you have if you can not deliver it. Beyer is a pretty good boxer and Kessler handled him easily. Calzaghe is certainly better than Beyer, but he is not consistent, and he has some very serious flaws in his style. Calzaghe will have to bring his A-game if he wants to beat Kessler. Can he do it at 168? I wouldn't care to bet on it.

And nearly everybody agreed with the fact that he had boxing ability before he fought Calzaghe.

I even saw people saying he had quicker hands than Joe.

My point, Jeff Lacy wasn't this one punch wonder people say he is today.

I would imagine that is an interview that Jeff Lacy would like to forget!!!

It gave me quite a chuckle when Lacy mentioned that his trainer Dan Birmingham was a "great analyst." Yeah, right! And afterward his trainer, his manager and promoter claimed they were surprised by the outcome. I have to admit I was surprised too. I thought Calzaghe would knock him out if Lacy fought his usual fight.

I remember people comparing Lacy to a young Mike Tyson, but the fact is Tyson had a much better style. Lacy had too many easy fights where his opponents just stood in front of him and providing an easy target for his firepower. He never learned how to track them down and hit them. Lacy was nothing more than a dumbass headhunter with minimal boxing skills. He can claim otherwise but the fight against Calzaghe exposed him.

There have been many thousands of boxers who have been the victims of bad training and bad management. Jeff Lacy is one of them.

allen green! the allen green i just seen fight ravelo isnt on the same level as calzaghe or kessler. and greens resume is unremarkable.
hope hbo pushes calzaghe to go for kessler because i don't think calzaghe wants to work that hard for money . hope kessler can catch him before he retires.

I wonder who hits harder, Mitchell or Kessler?

Seriously, Calzaghe-Kessler has to be made.

Power is pointless when it stands alone.
What makes Kessler a good fighter, is that he's got accuracy, timing, movement and speed as well. Making him a very complete fighter.

Don't really think in the Beyer fight he did quite as good as it sounds now. Beyer was able to hit him to the body more than i liked or expected. On the other hand it's hard to argue with a 3rd round KO.

Kessler didn't look better in the Beyer fight than he's done in a number of other fights. But it gave more ppl a chance so see what he's about.

I'm actually a little surpriced at the reaction, considering it was very much the expected outcome.

What made it more interesting i guess was the fact that Calzaghe was suddently made to look human again. (think he was given a bit too much credit for the Lacy fight - lots of ppl thouight him untouchable).

Perhaps Kessler is getting too much credit now. But the way i see it it's only making up for a long time where he was underrated due to lack of knowledge.

Calzaghe-Kessler was i pick 'em fight before last saturday.
It is also a pick 'em fight today.

Just think ppl have a better (more realistic) base of knowledge today on which to form their opinion.

How can watching 9 minutes of a boxer give anyone a more realistic view on anything?

I was just horsin around pal. I started watching Kessler from the Green fight, he's got good movement, he keeps a safe distance with his straight & stiff jab that sets up his power right straight. Yep, and he's damn big.
