I dont think the preparation was there , when i mean belief in his own hype im talking about the fact because of his last fight and the performance, i think he thought he could walk in the ring with a average preparation and just toe to toe and knock this guy out.
joe calzaghe looking crap so far

Did you hear his dad cussing and shouting at him in the corner?
He had an off night, against a dirty fighter.Comment

Joe can fight Woods, if he beat him, he will be LH Champion, then he can offer Kessler the fight...LH Champion sounds better than SMW Champion.
If Joe can feel "healthier" at 175, no point in staying at 168
If Joe walks into 168 again fighting drained against Kessler, he is going to get pounded...we have seen good fighters look like **** because they out-grew the weight, so what would be the pointComment

But where would be the unification?
Being the first ever unificated champion in the division sounds alot more tasty than a 2-division champion IMO.Comment

I'm not sure if he did have issues making weight, maybe he'll let it be known if he did, maybe not.. but just last March he looked superb at 168, he never got physically tired in this fight, so even if he was drained, he was able to cope with it and win clearly and comfortably, even if it was a bumpy ride along the way.Comment

I will have to see the fight before I make my complete judegment, but even still, when you are in your 30's, you just never know how your body is going to reactComment

And what do you think a night against a far more intelligent fighter like hopkins would produce? Hopkins will have something for him everytime he tries lunge in unprotected, hell take away calzhage's jab, hopkins punchers are far more straight and he comes from many different angles. Every single one of us have seen hopkins figure somebody out by round 5 or 6, its gonna be a rough and dirty the entire night.Comment
