It has been said that every great fighter has one more great fight left in him. Nevertheless, Calzaghe is 34 years old, so don't expect him to dominate every opponent like he dominated Lacy. There are limits to what these oldtimers can do.

Can somebody get rid of this PBF34 guy? He rarely contributes anything worth while or anything other than malice.

General sports fans or not at all.

Even my Grandmother knows who he is, and he's not that local either.

It was clear there for those with Digital to see on a minor British TV channel last night, a documentary on Joe, where they asked random people in the street in Wales and they didn't know who Calzaghe was.

It's funny that Eubank and Benn probably actually over-shadowed Joe on his own documentary last night!

Joe Calzaghe certainly has superstar potential in England, there is no doubt about that. Whether or not he can crossover to American audiences, that remains to be seen.

It can't hurt that he dominated a fella that had a substantial American following, Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy. What will make that pill hard to swallow for America is that the fight took place on English soil, where international transmissions aren't translated into American interest for some ignorant reason.

Calzaghe's next affair against Bika this weekend will, at the very least, give him some exposure on Yankee turf. Of 100 percent of tickets sold, 95 percent will be seeing him live for the first time. Fight fans often overlook a lack of credible opposition in favor of something memorable. Whether Calzaghe has something memorable to show us tommorrow night is beyond anything I can assume. What I can assume is that he will win this fight, most likely by a wide decision.

2006 was a good year for Calzaghe, it alleviated some of the pressure he must have been feeling from not having fought a serious name opponent in some time. He did try to pull out of the Lacy fight, but upon going through with it and succeeding in incredible terms, it must've instilled some serious self-confidence in his abilities.

2007 is going to be his year, if for no other reason but that it MUST be his year. He's not getting any younger, and with Marcus Beyer and Mikkel Kessler following his lead to America, it opens up the gates for some serious challenges that could result in him attaining some marquee matchups, if only in a limited marketable division at 168. Jones and Tarver won't be calling anytime soon, so there is only so high he can reach into the stratosphere. Call it a day late and a buck short for the Welshman.

I'll bet you that Calzaghe doesn't let him reach the distance, if you want?
