I also have this fight and have watched it a bunch of times. As much as I want to say that Gatti was ahead, I dont think he was. He was in it, yes, no doubt. I had Baldy ahead by maybe 2. Looked to me like Gatti was landing more power shots (regardless of numbers), Baldy just has a tough chin. I think a lot of people judge Gatti in that fight because he did his typical swelling routine. Yea he got stuck a couple of times, but he also got headbutted and lowblowed (granted, Baldy showed extreme sportsmanship in these cases, which is why I like him). Point is, if the fight had gone 12, it would have been FOTY, but it didn't. We can speculate and argue for our guy, but Gatti got stopped in the 9th and still gave everyone a hell of a show.

Guys, watch the skysports commentary version of the fight and you will see a COMPLETELY different fight. Ive seent he HBO one as well and Larry merchant was having a very grumpy evening. Give or take, Gatti may have been down 2 rds going into the ninth AT WORST(if you give him a close round and one of the draw rounds that i had). And he was extremely competitive in the 7th and won the eighth, so at the very least he was coming back in pts before he screwed up in the ninth.

Ur right man,he wasnt winning but it was closer den HBO wer having it,sometimes HBO speeks about one guy and gets carried away and only talk about the things HES doin in the ring and not the other guy, they always do it,Sky Sports were doing a better job in this fight, ive watched both, and Sky was the better commentary

Maybe it was HBO that fooled me but I thought even 6-2 was generous to Gatti (because he didn't do anything special in the first). I though he looked awkward and didn't win many minutes let alone rounds.

I cant remember how I scored it exactly but no way Gatti was winning. Now that I think about it I THINK I gave him like 2 rounds. Gatti seems a bit shot.

i had it 76-76 going into the ninth, but the rounds that i gave to gatti were close. Baldy hammered him in the fith.

no way he was winning. Gatti won 1 round. He could have won, but his pride got in the way. All he had to do was box more. He was getting killed with well timed rights only when he was stationary, and he would panic and brawl.

thats what you say with the cursing and the illiteracy but if you watch it again being unbiased youll see that most of the rounds could go either way, and gatt won at least 3 .
