All you need is a fighter who is willing to give 100 percent every outing and the fanbase and tv support gatti got.
and that person will need a micky ward.

Can anyone tell me when Gatti picked up the "blood and guts warrior" title to his intro? I agree with it totally, of course, because Gatti is awesome. Just curious, as I haven't followed too much of his career. Was it after a peticular fight, or just something the media tagged on him?

I'd guess after his fight with Wilson Rodriguez. That was an amazing come from behind win where he took an INSANE amount of punishment.

                  corrales doesnt have gatti's courage/balls.
augustus is a side-show, albeit an entertaining one.
morales, cotto, and arce just dont have gatti's come-from-behind ability.

dont mistake me, these fighters are exciting and entertaining in their own way. but they will never ever replace arturo gatti.

You might be right here good point, although for me I view them as the same.

First off Corrales does have Gatti's courage/balls. How can anyone ever question Corrales courage? He got up 5 times against PBF before that fight was stopped, how much heart is there for a fighter to get up that many times.

Corrales also got up from being floored by Casamayor in there first fight and went on to put Casa on his back in that same round. Also with a badly cut lip Corrales was begging the ref and doctor for 1 more round does anyone doubt he would've went balls out that round if allowed to continue.

Then the coup de grace' was the Castillo fight. To me Corrales is better than Gatti because he has the same courage/ball however he also has the better talent and what he does is against world class and elite fighters.

Augustus is just like Gatti but without the PR machine behind him.

Your right these fighters will never replace Gatti for mainstream recognition but I dont need a sunday columnist or ESPN broadcaster to tell me who is a warrior and whom I should root for.
