Also, when he has 'even' within the brackets, that's him tallying the total score after each round...he only has the 11th round even...and that's because of the point deduction. He had it for Miranda (10-9), but because of the low blow point deduction he was forced to score it even at (9-9)

Unreal how you can even compare a prediction with a review!I take the original poster's remark though... after looking for info on Lacy-Blow before the fight and reading such ill-informed comments as "writers" having a pick and then saying "... though I have to confess, I've never actually watched a Joe Calzaghe fight" I have to take the word of these internet "writers" with a pinch of salt. Other than David Griesman, I don't listen to any of these "writers", and look forward to seeing what Boxing Monthly/The Ring have to say about it.
HOWEVER... I've been giving this some thought. If Miranda hadn't had points taken away from him, would he have won? Hmmmm, maybe. I had it a draw without deductions, though you could argue it was 7-5 to Miranda.
Also, should the fifth have been a TKO? Well, yeah, it should, really, though I guess Abraham's corner could have pressed for a DQ in that case. Even though Miranda's butt had nothing to do with it, the jaw was only noticed at that stage.
Bottom line, who was DESERVEDLY the winner?
* Was it Miranda, the guy who only had to keep punching Abraham a little longer until the broken jaw was spotted, then bask in a TKO victory? Miranda, the guy who ****ed that up by taking the spotlight away from that with an illegal headbutt and then couldn't KO a severely impared opponent? Miranda, the man who should have been able to outlast that opponent who was passing blood continually for seven rounds, yet AGAIN ****ed up by constantly fouling? Whether those deductions were harsh or not, if the guy didn't foul they wouldn't have a case to do it.
* Or was it Abraham, the man who showed superhuman heart by going for SEVEN ROUNDS with a broken jaw that made Ali-Norton I look like a slight graze? The guy was a "winner" in every real sense, and should be commended for that.
And I still can't believe there's debate that Abraham didn't take four rounds... I had him with 5/6 on my card, because even though his workrate wasn't always that high, the bottom line is Miranda was far more subseptible to Abraham's punches than the other way around.
Rematch: Abraham KO.

The polls do not show that most people think Abraham won. If anything, the polls reflect that people's opinion is pretty much split. This is such a hot topic in boxing. I don't recall another fight being this controversial. I do look forward to the rematch very much. As an impartial boxing fan, I saw the fight for what it was. I had Miranda winning the fight. I thought the points deductions were atrocious and uncalled for. And for goodness sake, the fight should have been stopped. Abraham should not have gone through all that unncessary pain to keep his belt. The man's life was in jeopardy and this is evident in being rushed to the hospital with surgery.

Most unbiased fans agree with you. Most, but not all.
The hardcore European/Abraham fans will never give in no matter what happens. All of a sudden they say every sanction body and sports writer have no idea what they talk about when it comes to the sport in which they make their living.
Hell, Ring Magazine, to me one of the oldest and most respected magazine in boxing actually put Miranda 3 spots higher on their ranking after seeing the fight.
Rematch: Miranda will do what the ref would not let him do, fight and get the KO.

I wish this poll was public because I honestly want to know which people think Miranda won. If you take away the 3 point deductions from low blows then the fight is close and if that's your argument... then that's no argument at all. Then you can complain about a referee who screwed Miranda but you can't debate who "won" the fight.
A lot of people are talking in this thread but nobody is really pointing out what Miranda did to win.... maybe somebody might be able to convince me but all I've read is a lot of bull **** and debate; and no real facts being pointed out.
The question of, "How can you win by sitting on the ropes for 2 minutes of every round?" was asked and I think the answer is easy.... by your opponent not capitalizing during that 2 minutes. Miranda would throw and throw and throw but couldn't land a clean punch to save his life. AA on the other hand sat against the rope, in pain, and avoided getting hit while throwing clean, effective punches.

I thought Miranda won the fight, but it was close. There is absolutely no reason for all of the bitching about it, and everyone acts like Miranda is the next coming of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for pointing that out Mech... I couldn't read...but you quoting him somehow made me able to read it.
Like I just don't get it. I'm usually the first person on this forum saying I can completely understand how people can score fights in different manners and am completely ok when judges don't see it my way. The judges did see it my way this time but a decent section of the public doesn't and I just can't agree with their perspective or even understand it.
