the headbutt was totally intentional. most of the low blows were intentional, too, but the one in the 11th wasnt really, and i think abraham overreacted just to get more time to rest.

abraham has the heart of a warrior, a chin of concrete, heavy hands, and plenty of technique and skill. but as good as he is, this was obviously not his finest hour, but it should have been. if there were not fouls and no points were deducted, abraham would've won 7 rounds to 5, but it couldve been a draw.

miranda ****ed up. hes a dirty fighter and gets frustrated easily. his chin is less than average and his stamina is questionable. but he hits hard and is extremely aggressive, up to the point where its almost unsportsmanlike.

miranda lost and he lost dishonorably. he allowed himself to lose a lot of points, he got frustrated, and he doesnt know how to handle boxers. hes pretty much a one trick pony; if he cant knock you out, he probly cant do much else.

overall, i didnt really enjoy the fight. it was marred by fouls, long time outs, and inconsistency. i do think a rematch should take place and miranda better clean up his ****in act.
I didn't enjoy the fight much either. I'd never watched either guy in a full fight. I'd only seen the "highlights" so to speak. In the end, it was not really a good way to be introduced to either guy. I definitely agree about exaggerating the foul in the 11th to get more time. I'm undecided about Abraham, but I definitely wasn't made a fan of Miranda. That's a fight he should have finished, but he couldn't. I think if Miranda hadn't committed any of the fouls, he would have probably sc****d by with the win, but that's pretty sad when you're fighting a guy who really has no business continuing in the fight. I really think it should have been stopped with a TKO going to Miranda. Abraham's team should have known enough to throw in the towel. The damage to his jaw may have been made much more severe and it could jeopordize his future as a fighter. For a win over Miranda, I don't think it's worth it. If Miranda had won by TKO, it would have been the most unspectacular win in history. You know, a little bit less spectacular than watching a guy with a broken jaw hang on for a points decision vs a guy that really should be able to finish him off.

i agree except for the "miranda should've won by TKO" part. miranda broke abraham's jaw with a headbutt, i really dont think he should win for intentionally headbutting his opponent.

I'm pretty sure his jaw was broken before the headbutt occured. The ref just noticed it at that point. Since it was so damned intentional, Miranda was probably trying to headbutt him in the jaw, but he got him more on the ear/back of the head.

If you watch it again, you'll see Abraham's mouth is already hangin' open pre-headbut. If the injury was caused by the foul, they would have gone to the cards and Abraham would have won. The ref knew the jaw was broken before the foul, so they were talkin' about ending the fight with a TKO for Miranda.

I've seen a lot more holding/clinching in other fights where no one complained. Most of the time, Abraham was able to get away by slipping under shots. I think you should be more upset that Miranda had a poor showing against a guy that was there to be finished.
