Roy has had many memorable fights. Anyone who claims he didn't fight anyone, or he could've fought this person or that person, needs to chill. The man has done things in the ring that fans like us may never see the likes of again, you must respect that!

He ain't done either....he just said today he'd knock Tarter's ass out in a 4th fight and if anyone believes that Woods or Calzaghe make Roy shake in his boots, you're crazy.

Roy fought both Hopkins and Toney before they really hit their prime in boxing, but they were still good wins.

The reason people deride RJJ is tht when things started getting deeper in the MW and SMW divisions he ran to LHW where there was no competition and hid for years fighting nobodies.

As for his heavyweight win, he chose the slowest, worst of the champions to fight. He refused to even talk about fighting Byrd, who would have made him look bad even in victory (assuming he could even beat Byrd), and couldn't take the punches from the other HW champs, so he demured on those fights and used Tarver as an excuse to vacate his title and go back down where he thought he might still have a chance to win another fight. we see how well that worked out.

I think RJJ is the biggest waste of natural talent ever.

I just find it amusing that you can say all the things that I say about Jones but as soon as I do it then:

            1. No matter how many US fighters I praise, I'm still running down Jones/PBF (inserted overhyped, undermatched US fighter of your choice) because "I'm a Brit".

            2. Even more hilariously, if I'm detracting from a US fighter, to many the logic is that ergo I must be praising their UK "counterpart". (If I say that Floyd hasn't fought anyone of note since 2002, that means I'm saying Hatton is #1 P4P and has the best resume in history, apparently). Look at this thread alone... I've already got some moron bringing up Eubank and co to me. Why? I haven't mentioned Eubank.

Even further, if he stayed at HW, guess who his mandatory was for the WBA...Vitaly Klitschko.

People Don't REALLY think the bad things they say about RJJ.. Its just really Hard to like a GUY who has no respect for his opponents.. Most people don't realise.. But they hate Self proclamation.. Its an insult to people to TELL them what their opinions are when they are more than capable of forming their OWN.. So when someone starts going on about how they are the greatest it pisses people off and makes the Them wish the speaker would get his head Knocked in.. Hence all the venonm RRJ endures... A little humilty is good for your popularity..
