just because you stay at one division doesn't make you better...why not take the risk/challenge?

Roy fought tougher opponents at 175, then Hopkins fighting Tito.

no RJJ is better over all, but Hop is better art middle because he has more fights and more tittle defenses

I understand your point, I just don't think it is fair...Jones didn't stay long enough at middle, true, but his balls dropped and he decided he wanted to move up...it's much more dangerous to fight guys at 175 then it was at 160

Hopkins did move up to 175 and beat Tarver. So he did take a risk there. Remember many people were picking Tarver to KO Hopkins. But then after the fights as usual it became welll Tarver is overated...

yes, but he took a low risk in my opinion: Tarver had to come down in weight and it was after a few grueling fights of his own...timing is everything

well if Roy would of stayed at middle, Hopkins probably wouldn't have been "HOPKINS"...he failed at his one, true, big name, middle-weight challenger

Hopkins and Barkley would of been all-out warfare, maybe Hopkins' extra sharpness would of won him a decision if he remained on his feet. Nunn at his best would of beaten any version of Hopkins any day of the week. Benn and Hopkins would of been a very dirty, exciting fight, but the last person you want to go at relentless like that was Benn. Benn KO. Hopkins would of completely out-worked Eubank, winning a clear decision. McCallum and even a younger Hopkins would of been a battle of crafty bastards, but if Hopkins wanted to keep it at close-quarters I don't see him coming out on top. Kalambay at his best would of beaten any version of Hopkins, likewise Graham. Hopkins was a little more hittable in his younger days, and Julian was a ****** puncher. Who knows? Lamar Parks would of been neck and neck with Hopkins, probably just edging it. Jones Jr with two healthy hands would of beaten any version of Hopkins. McClellan had extremely heavy hands, you can't look past that, he really was a wrecking machine, he just takes Hopkins out. Reggie Johnson was as slick as a greaseball back then, but Hopkins deals with southpaws very well.

I can't believe I missed out Toney. Anyway, Toney does a surgeon job on Hopkins and takes him out late with the scores close.
