Dempsey had the same sized torso as Tyson and huge VERY strong shoulders. Look carefully at that picture and you'll realize that Dempsey's biceps don't look big because they are being compared to his massive deltoids. He also had a very big head to go with that shoulder frame and the illusion is a slender athlete when he was really a natural heavyweight frame carved down to a lean 190 pounds. Dempsey really starved himself down to that weight by today's standards. He walked around at 210-220 pounds or more as an adult, and not a fat 220 either.
As for his skills being primitive, well Dino if you are that ignorant I don't give a **** if you put me on your list.
Dempsey was one of the all time greats, and a top five heavyweight in my opinion. He was a taller Tyson with much better inside fighting skills and more heart. Dempsey had as much courage as many man who ever fought in the ring, and lived a hard life even by a boxer's standards.
I think it's an overstatement to say Dempsey would beat anyone but he's a very, very, difficult fight for anyone who ever lived at any size.
He would absolutely BUTCHER anyone alive today. No one has the neccesary movement to avoid him. No one fighting in 2006's heavyweight division is going to beat Dempsey in close, too powerful, too quick, too short and compact with those hooks and uppercuts.
