Posting pictures of both men's physiques doesn't add anything new to the conversation and proves nothing. Show me the evidence of Hagler having light-heavyweight strength such as Jake LaMotta and Marcel Cerdan possessed.
Hagler stayed at one weight, which is much harder thing to do, then moving up.
Anyway, I'm tired of debating this, I agree Lamotta was stronger then Hagler!
I have respect for that, admitting you were wrong about something. I recently admitted I was very wrong about Peter knocking Toney out so I know how it feels as well.
GREATEST MIDDLEWEIGHTS OF ALL TIME...my version, anyway. Well, today's list.
1. Carlos Monzon
2. Ray Robinson
3. Marvin Hagler
4. Harry Greb
5. Stanley Ketchel
6. Bob Fitzsimmons
7. Tony Zale
8. Bernard Hopkins
9. Charley Burley
10. Joey Giardello
Very good list overall. I like that you included Fitz. I always considered him a top five pound for pound fighter as well as being an awesome middleweight. Pound for pound in the most literal sense, of having consistent success against men much, much heavier.
Funny the huge fuss people made about Roy going up in weight and beating Ruiz, as if it had never happened before when, a hundred years ago, Fitz was knocking big men senseless while weighing in as a middleweight. Jones used modern conditioning methods to add weight to his frame while Fitz was not even a blown up middleweight as Jones was, he was just a middleweight period.

I have inly seen one Monzon fight.
I really need to see more.
Fitz often gets shafted; but he really was a "pound-for-pound" fighter. An email buddy of mine, Curt in Hawaii, has really preached to me about how good he really was and provided good reading material, backing his claims up...and goes so far as to say Bob inspired Langford and Gans from a style perspective.

He wasn't the fastest; but he was a technician's technician and had a right hand that would knock you dead. I haven't got a complete fight of his; but every bit of footage I have shows a man who knew his craft and knew it well.
