Calzaghe is 34 and at the peak of his career, same with Winky Wright, ****.. James Toney is 38 and can hang with the hardest hitters in the heavyweight division.. 35 is hardly considered "old" in boxing today.

Age isn't an excuse for Roys loss, IMO he was over ambitious.

I think Roy is shot because of his fighting style. Nard and Toney did and can fight till they are past 40. Three years from now I bet you James Toney is still fighting.

Hopkins dominted MW so you cant really know which MW was strong in his era because he won them all.

17 title defense is a word enought to convice me he is better than Toney p4p.

Roy Jones was very fast for any wieght class. and that is his ultimate adv over all his opponenets. I think if he was still in HW he would do good you know you cant hit someone you cant catch

Roy Jones went and fought arguably the worse HW champion of the last decade...

Toney went and fought one of the BIGGEST(not the biggest, but one of them) punchers in the decade....

The only decent, natural MW's that Hopkins fought (Jones Jr, Taylor) he lost against.

You know, nobody knew who Hopkins was before the Trinidad fight.

I think Peter's power is a bit overrated because of his KO of Jeremy Williams. I remember when Henry Akinwande did the same thing to Williams and look where he is now. Look at the guys to take Peter the distance, Hawkins, Shufford who got knocked out by several people and Pudar who never fought again after the Peter fight.

truthfully saying you cants say all of the 17 guy he fought are bums could you.

But if someone dominates that division and is so strong even decent or maybe even good fighters cant overthrow him. but the problem he didnt get the spotlight intell the Tito fight and you all know what happen to Tito giving him his first deaft.

Nobody remebers a guy who lost even if he was good. as well in a division that didnt have so much spotlight for some time intell Tito came.

I think because he knockdown Wlad three times is another reason.
