Anybody else sick of this sport?

I'm sick of the sport but only because of the heavyweights. We aren't seeing conditioned athletes anymore...we are seeing fat sloths. Which is what we saw today. It was fairly entertaining but you had two guys in there who didn't respect the sport...and Toney payed for it. I'm glad he did too.

I watched the fight with my old man and he gave the W to Peter. I argued with him for a bit how that was ridiculous and how wrong he was but my frustration ended with something like this: "what a ****ing joke! you know if Toney wasn't such a fat bastard Peter wouldn't have even made it to 12!"

An outburst really but it's the true point here. James Toney in fighting condition would have won this easily. It didn't have to be great, good would have done. And that's probably what pisses people off more than anything. Instead of taking the titles he's just putting on a show of the old fat man embarrassing the younger punks with his crafty ways. I don't know if this is his way of flipping off the Boxing world, but it's hurting him the most.

I know it's not far enough removed from the fight for something like this, but is anybody else's immediate reaction to this fight just sickness for the sport? I mean this is not like Hatton edging Collazo, Barrera eking out a win over Juarez, or the Taylor-Wright draw, which were all rightful decisions and close fights. Toney-Peter was not a close fight. Toney won 8 rounds and got an extra point for Peter's illegal tactics, which were out of frustration. Nobody has ever heard of any of the three judges from tonight. This was a robbery when Toney took a risk and deserved a win he badly needed. He is going to be robbed of becoming HW champion despite proving all of his doubters wrong. HE'S A FAT OLD MAN AND HE'S STILL THE BEST TECHNICAL HEAVYWEIGHT IN THE WORLD. He gets a raw deal because he's rude and obnoxious and the queezy fans of the sport can't take it nor can the promoters who don't control him. He took on what you guys said was the biggest puncher in the division, took his punches well, AND BEAT HIM IN EVERY ROUND BUT TWO OR THREE. This is just ****ing sickening to me right now. Oh but I'm sure some Peter fan/Toney hater out there can justify a scorecard for Peter and you know what? Screw them. Robbery on a big fight level = black eye on boxing.

I think your bum ass needs to sit the next few fight's on the sidelines...Before you become even more of a loser lol..

Or atleast find somthin else to place your emotions in..

see, this is part of the reason why id rather watch UFC instead of boxing. more stoppages in UFC and nowhere near as many robberies.

This was a very close fight most people try to make it look like
JT won by a land slid. In the beginning of every fight tony starts good but perter finish better.

the cumulative effect of bad decisions, fake promotions and hype, shady underground business, no actual single boxing association or league, corrupt sanctioning bodies, and hand picked opponents instead of a bracket style system have convinced me to watch boxing less as of lately.

in fact i probably won't post much anymore.

that fight left a bad taste in my mouth.

Twas one of those fights that made me so ****ing mad. There is no way anybody should Peter winning this fight. Toney fought a perfect fight and was tagging Peter with jabs and straight rights all night. Toney was robbed plain and simple and anybody who doesn't think so, hates Toney or doesn't know boxing.
