Thread turned out just like I thought it would. Glad to see so many of our better posters feel the same way I do about the fight last night and the bad taste it leaves in our mouths. I think I'm done posting here for a while.

the most corrupt major sport I know

Boxing appears to me to be the most corrupt sport that I know, the only sport in which all too often the "winner" of a fight is not the man who performed the best. There are just too many examples of poor or corrupt judging, weak and poorly trained referees and promoters that in all likelihood can influence the judging of a fight.

I will remain a boxing fan but a lot of my enthusiasm is gone. It's gotten to the point where only real boxing fans who know the history of the sport and understand the rules can remember who really won a fight, not who got the decision by corrupt or incompetent judges. Casual fans will never know in the case of close fights. It's a damn shame.

i feel the same way to a certain extent. they are ripping us fans off. with ****ty scoring and bad officiating they try and play US fans as if we are ******ed, like we can't tell who won the fight, like we won't know that it's corrupt judging by the out come.

it makes me upset that they think we are all dumb, like we have ZERO intelligence when it comes to boxing.

i don't follow any other sport(part time baseball fan), boxing is the only one that is worth a damn to me, as far as sport and skill are concerned. it's one of the toughest sport out there and one of the most dangerous, and yet they treat it with no respect. poor judging and a multitude of other bad elements are sinking this sport into extinction, slowly but more steadly it's progressingly getting worse. with the way they're running boxing it's only a matter of time before it goes under and we have NO great sport of stand up fighting. it's not IF it's WHEN.

True, but can we say the same about the 147, 140, 105, 108, HW? Those are a few I remember right now in which they're milking thier champs.
