at 140 and in the very near future, id take Castillo with a late stoppage in an awesome fight.

at 147 i would think things would start to favor Cotto still an awesome fight though.

I don't know about that, i've seen Cotto hurt throwing punches, slipping, clinching and deffending himself, not laying on the ropes with arms down taking bombs from lighter fighter. Who's the better boxer? Remember Castillo-PBF2, Castillo-Casamayor? Sure Castillo is great when fighters stand in front of him and he's able to tee off, unfortunately for him Cotto can BOX, and he knows how to fight moving back wards! In the power department, I would say they're pretty even there, only that Cotto is the bigger man! How about speed? Can Castillo be any slower? Cotto's combinations are fast and powerful, so are Castillo's but nowhere near Cotto's.
Please throw in some facts or back your opinions up!
      I'm OUT!!!
What makes you think he will stop Castillo just cause Chico stopped him????? Castillo has a hard ass chin, he never went down in that fight...Cotto hasnt faced anyone near Castillos level and will be in a big surprise, nuff said Castillo by late KO/TKO

Very hard fight to call, I think we would need to see Cotto and Castillo fighting at welter first...This fight has FOTY written all over it.

castillo was stopped by chico because he got over confident, he had that fight in his pocket already. plus all the time chico bought to recover. It wont happen again, did you see the rematch?

Cotto hasnt fought any elite fighters, Castillo brings tons of skill and expierience.Only things Cotto has in his favor are faster hands and that he is younger and fresher.Castillo will make Cotto pay anytime he wants to land a bomb on Castillo which will make Cotto shy away from letting his hands go.Only way I see Cotto winning is if (and he can) hurts Castillo on a combination that Castillo gets caught while throwing punches himself.Very hard to do cause Castillo has his timing down. I dont seee Cotto winning rounds consistintley while throwing a combo and reseting like he does.It wont work against Castillo especially with his high work rate.

My first response is that it would be a great fight. Castillo does have a solid chin, if they fight Cotto might not stop him, might not win at all, but when I compare their skills, I give Cotto an edge, speaking of Castillo's chin, he's been stopped 5 times, not only by Chico. Cotto has been hurt, but recuperates and wins the fight.

Some good points there Bomber, but just remember, if you stand in front of Castillo, he'll kill you, if you can out box him and you know how to fight going backwards as he's applying pressure you have a good chance of catching him or winning on points.
