Until Wright gets a promoters license - which at last count he had not - Lacy cann't be signed to Winky promotions. Right now, Winky rpmotions is essentially a couple of past champions standing around talking about going into business with each other because they don't want to pay Gary Shaw anymore. No wonder Winky jumped on the shovel when De La Hoya shouted ****. Lacy will jump twice as high for half the price after the Calzaghe fight.
By the way, Pacquiao, Wright, Lacy all dropped Shaw in the last 8 months. Tell you anything?
Connections? All Shaw has is Rafael Marquez and 15rounds.com stuck up his ass.
That's why Wright got with GBP, to use their promoter's license to put on his Winky Promotions shows.
Shaw still has Corrales, Marquez, Cunningham, and a few others I cant think of at the moment, but he does still have a decent stable of guys.

Hmmmmm, I would have to rank Marquez as the best of that bunch. I think Corrales wouldn't have waled out of the third Castillo fight had it happened; he doesn't know how to fight any other way than that which would have played to Castillo's strengths and I seriously doubt that Corrales can go through the meatgrinder again unscathed. I'm betting he'll be a favorite against Casamayor, but for me, that's got a lot to do with the fact that Casamayor has slipped, also.
Cunningham looks promising but is as yet an unknown quantity.
Sounds like Shaw has realised what we all know - Lacy was retired by Calzaghe.
I'm thinking the same thing. That loss was just so devastating and the fact that Lacy refused several fights in a row that he should have taken (at least the Allan Green fight) proves that he is just not there mentality and might never get back there.
He will be back and he will be fine.......He will be a champion again with in two years.
that's good to be optimistic. I hope he's all right myself, I was just giving my opinion and based on boxing trends. maybe he's a different breed, I don't know. but he'll always be admired for stepping up and going after Calzaghe in the man's prime.

Yeah **** man he is my favorite fighter.....I gotta stay optimistic. He has admittingly suprised me lately with the weight gain and turning down of fights....but you have to remember he did fight 5 times in 13 months leading up to the Calzaghe fight and was always one the most active titlists when he was out there......I think he needs a well deserved break but hope that you are wrong but you never know he may not have his heart in it right now......hopefully he finds that fire again.

Exactly. I think Calzaghe took Lacy to a place we'd never want to go. I don't see him ever getting back in a ring again. RETIRED
