    Jeff Lacy has been dumped

After refusing fights against Antonio Tarver and reportedly Bernard Hopkins, Jeff Lacy has been dumped by promoter Gary Shaw.

Although he's only lost just once, eventhough he was demolished by Calzaghe surely he would be better staying with Shaw, who has lots of connections.

    Where will he go now?

I said it right after the Calzaghe fight. A young fighter suffering a loss like that needs to rebuild slowly. He's still got it; he just has to believe he's still got it; and to do that, he needs a couple of low profile fights against good tough journeymen who can take him the distance after a one fight blow-out. Four fights down the road, he'll be ready to take on a top-tenner. GOOD Management/matchmaking is everything right now, if this kid's gonna salvage his career and get back on track. One false move at this moment in time, and its over for him because his spirit will be crushed.

I feel bad for him man. Not only did he have to go through the trauma of that ****, but then his promoter drops him less than 6 months after proclaiming him the new age Mike Tyson. Beneath all the hype actually was a person, and all this must have some sort of negative affect mentally. It's beatings like the one Joe Calzaghe dished out which can severely alter a fighters mindset, and Lacy may never be the fighter he once was.

One thing I hate about Lacy is his constant excuses for losing to Calzaghe! He says he was burnt out etc and hardly gives Calzaghe any credit even going as far as to say that anyone couldve beaten him on that night.
