Originally posted by 2toughOne thing I hate about Lacy is his constant excuses for losing to Calzaghe! He says he was burnt out etc and hardly gives Calzaghe any credit even going as far as to say that anyone couldve beaten him on that night.
Thats bull****, after the fight Lacy gave Joe all the credit in the world, he was humbled in his loss. People have asked him "what the **** happened" because he obviously looked like **** from round 1 on, it was obvious something was wrong, and he got his ass whooped on from there on out. I want to say Calzhage took him out of his game, but frankly he was out of it from Round 1 on. Joe beat his ass definately, but something was definately not right about Lacy.
What the **** do you want the guy to do, kiss his ass? He took a beating and admitted he took one, what do you want him to do, just dedicate his life to Joe? Get over it, its one fight and one win.Comment

Dumped?Originally posted by 2toughAfter refusing fights against Antonio Tarver and reportedly Bernard Hopkins, Jeff Lacy has been dumped by promoter Gary Shaw.
Although he's only lost just once, eventhough he was demolished by Calzaghe surely he would be better staying with Shaw, who has lots of connections.
Where will he go now?
Is that confirmed?

And honestly I think he probably had a lot to do with the dunping. He had recently said he was unhappy with his promoter leading up to the Calzaghe fight. Looking back I think that his promoters pushed him way too fast into that fight with the results we all know by now.I think that he was on track to be a great fighter and I hope he is able to pull it all together. But I have to admit, the longer he is away the more worried I get.I said it right after the Calzaghe fight. A young fighter suffering a loss like that needs to rebuild slowly. He's still got it; he just has to believe he's still got it; and to do that, he needs a couple of low profile fights against good tough journeymen who can take him the distance after a one fight blow-out. Four fights down the road, he'll be ready to take on a top-tenner. GOOD Management/matchmaking is everything right now, if this kid's gonna salvage his career and get back on track. One false move at this moment in time, and its over for him because his spirit will be crushed.
As for all the Calzaghe fans, Joe put on a hell of a fight that evening and showed why he was Champ so long. But honestly, can you blame everyone for underestimating him? What has he done since except a. get reinjured and b. take on a lesser quality opponent? which was the main criticism of him before.Comment

why does he have to say in interviews that he wasnt the same bcoz of this excuse or that excuse.Originally posted by Black JesusThats bull****, after the fight Lacy gave Joe all the credit in the world, he was humbled in his loss. Because its obvious he wasnt the same, I just told you from Round 1 on it was obvious he wasnt himself as he just stood around and let Joe C. do as he pleased. Your acting like your Joe C. himself seeking credit for the win YOU got. There was obviously some reasoning behind lacy looking so lackluster, and having a great fighter like Joe C in front of him didint help any. But you seem to be obsessed with this fight and not even looking at what Joe C. is doing now, AKA nothing.Originally posted by 2toughwhy does he have to say in interviews that he wasnt the same bcoz of this excuse or that excuse.
