It is a dissapointment for Briggs after they had a verbal agreement with him. I would've been pissed to. He just needs to prove his worth in the ring though instead of insulting fighters and managers. Prove to them how good he is.

Pfftt. I understand Briggs being pissed, but even now nothing is signed with Brock. They were just giving Maskaev the most possible time to consider if he'd be able to recover in time, which they now know he can't. But now Briggs is out of the picture because he's signed with King. It sounds like Manny and Wlad wanted Briggs over Brock, but it's not an option now that he's signed with DKP.
And OMG, what a tard, taking up for Don King and saying he gets criticized BECAUSE HE'S BLACK! That's probably the ******est statement made by a boxer this year. People don't hate King because of his skin color, they hate him because he's a theif, a cheat, a murderer, among other things.
Show me the top 50 people that hate King, and I'll guarantee you 90% of them are black. Black fighters who have dealt with King are the main group that speaks out against him and hates him. Is Tim Witherspoon racist against blacks? How about Hopkins, does he only hate King because of his skin color? Tyson? How about Byrd? LOL Briggs is a tard.Comment

I agree with Briggs. Screw the Bitchkchos. The only time I rooted for them was Vitali against Lewis. Although Briggs has no real reason to be talking (cause he sucks), I like the fire.Comment

Oh, and yes I must say that I agree with everyone saying Briggs' power is overrated. Lots of guys have been able to take his punches. Everyone mentions the Foreman robbery, but Botha was totally robbed also in that draw. Botha won that fight, and took Briggs punches pretty well all night except for the one KD, where he got up and started putting it on Briggs again, who was dead tired.
Briggs is an underacheiver who has had a million shots, so now he misses out on one shot and cries like a baby, and he's calling Wlad the ****? LOL Suck it up, win a few, get a title, then start talking trash. As of now, he's done nothing to talk about, with a million shots.

He even failed against Fields on the comeback trail, a guy that has never beaten anybody, and who is in boxing for that single purpose, to give you a comeback win.
Briggs needs to shut his trap, put his nose to the grindstone, and worry about winning his next fight, instead of bitching because he didn't get a fight that he didn't earn in the first place.Comment

This thread is filled a gazillion people who are all missing the point. The point is that Finkel assured Briggs they had a deal, and then went out and pursued other fights - left the Briggs team hanging while using his (Briggs') name as leverage for the other stuff he was signing up. It has nothing to do with Briggs' boxing ability, his record, his past fights, whether he's overrated, blah, blah, blah. It has everything to do with honesty, integrity and professionalism in a sport that's sadly lacking all of the above. I know this last point is not news to anyone, but it's still sad...Comment

while I think Klitschko could have beaten Briggs, this all goes back to the continuing story of the Klitschko's buying into the hype of their opponents and backing out whenever they face a guy with serious power. Vitali did this with Rahman, and Wlad has already done it with Briggs. It's a bad trend, but it's going to continue for a while.Comment

I don't think anyone is really taking up for Finkel, or saying that he isn't a weasel. Of course, Finkel (like 99% of all boxing managers and promoters) is a weasel. 1. Shannon calling Wlad a ****. Juvenile and ******ed.
2. Inferring King is some honest saint who's a victim of racism.
3. And for calling someone who has worked his way into legit title contention and who has beaten someone who he failed against, a "FLOP."
