Wright Wants Taylor, and De La Hoya

Former undisputed junior middleweight champion Winky Wright (50-3-1, 25 KOs), tells the Star-Telegram that he still wants a shot at middleweight champion Jermain Taylor. Wright tells the paper that a rematch clause was in the contract, and he would like to hook up with Taylor one more time to settle the score. The two fighters fought to a draw on June 17 in Memphis. I was rooting for Winky in the first fight, I think Taylor has the upper hand in the rematch though, he knows what he has to do to secure the victory.

exactly. Wright will bring nothing new to the table, but Taylor gets better every time out. Taylor is just a better fighter, it's as simple as that. he is still an untapped, green fighter when you look at it. turned pro in what 2000-2001? amazing what he's already accomplished

That was sure damning to his character to say he didn't want the rematch 5 minutes after feeling he was screwed out of a fight most people think he won.

It's not like fighters get emotional and say things they don't mean after a fight.

Maybe Wright would have more clarity if he was a bitter little college kid who's only been watching boxing for 2 years.

Yup......Wink and Taylor most definetely have to settle the score. If the fight with DLH pops off great but I don't think it needs to be done like the rematch with Taylor does.

A Wright Taylor rematch would be a great fight for both of them and for the boxing public.

The part about Delahoya is obvious. Everyone and their dog wants to fight Oscar. Cha Ching.

I think Winky wont let victory escape him the next time. All he has to do is fight. Taylors in over his head
