Brock is a guy that Wlad has to beat if he wants to solidify his status as champ. Briggs is not such a guy, not a top ranked fighter.

I think Briggs would be a more dangerous fight, but Klitschko would get no recognition for it. Since Briggs as soemeone mentioned is old leftovers.

Now Brock is an up and coming undefeated prospect, that might go on to do bigger things in the future. So taking him out gives Wlad some credit.

shannon briggs decided to save his own life

he saw don king had two champions who, unlike wlad, he may actually be able to beat, so he signed with him because obviously don king promised him he would give him the next shot at the title now that beck, barrett have gotten theirs. the winner of golota/mcbride will be fed to whichever champ briggs doesent get, that way don can keep things 100 percent King in all his title fights.
