Oh come on, Michael Spinks was a legit heavyweight, you can say what you want, but the older Larry Holmes that he defeated would be dominating the heavyweight division if he were around today. Futhermore, you guys continuw to put down Tyson's win over Holmes, but last time I checked a near 50 year old Larry Holmes did a more impressive job of defeating Ray Mercer than Lennonx Lewis did when he got a gift decision in that fight from the judges. Let me ask you guys, what great fighter in his prime did Lennox ever beat? No one, his resume is about on par with Tyson's.

Its interesting u say that, because at his best Tyson beat everyone that was put in front of him.
After prison before Holyfiled he was nothing but hype, but his record before Douglas was incredible.

His first 19 fights he won by KO, 11 in the first round. Thats not hype.
As for Holmes, after Tyson he beat Mercer more convincingly than Lewis, and went the distance with Holyfield and McCall.

Tyson outboxed and knocked out Holmes, destroyed Spinks, yet is given no credit.
What more could he of done?

What, beat an old washed up champ and then KO'd a light heavy? Real good!

he outboxed a 42year old holmes though , fact is he beat a holmes who was a shell of his prime self , i dont doubt tyson was a great fighter but i dont see him on the level of lewis

and im sure a lewis-tyson fight would end up with lewis knockin him out

Funny you should say that, becuase I put his first 19 fights on a DVD and watched them.

And you know what? I love Tyson, but they were all tin cans. Sorry.

And as i said, Holmes went on to still be a decent heavywieght years after fighting Tyson.

I cant see Lewis's chin holding up. His defence wasnt great, and Tyson at his best could slip the jab and counter either with his own jab or with a left hook.
I still believe Holmes jab was still decent wen they fought, and Tyson was able to slip it and move in.

I don't think it was Holmes' age that was the biggest problem, it was the fact that he was inactive for two years going into such a big fight.

So does he deserve no credit for beating them?
Compared to other heavywieghts records its a great acheivement.

Right, so Tyson's first 19 opponents were of a high calibre.

Muhammad Ali had the best resume for a heavyweight IMO.
