Steward: "Wladimir is Ready For Brock"

While boarding a plane to head back to Detroit, Wladimir Klitschko's trainer Emanuel Steward contacted BoxingScene to give his take on the recent situation with Klitschko's November 11 return to ring, in New York City's Madison Square Garden. [details]

Why is the wbo being mentioned as a legite title? Hbo should be ashamed of themselves, i've heard them try and legitimize the title. Its only the wbc,wba and ibf, we don't need more titles.

Brock is not ready for Wlad. This would be a horrible match up for Brock. Wlad is looking for a way out of fighting somebody that has a legit chance of beating him. He knows Brock isn't the heavy hitter like Briggs. Wlad is a *****. Wlad knows his stay at champ is going to be short. He is pulling the same **** his brother did. I hope this fight happens and I hope Brock wins. **** the Klits and their ***** ass selves. Wlad is a belt holder not a champ.

Wlad is just being safe, by not fighting any of King's pets.
Since Sergey and Briggs are in DKP stable, the fight just cant be made with any of them.

Briggs has a better chance of KOing Wlad than Brock does. Brock is not a heavy hitter and Wlad knows that. That's why he would rather fight Brock. I have seen Brock fight live against David Bostice. He took that fight 12 rounds. Anybody that has a punch could have ended it in 6. Wlad is a puss. He is scared of any body with a punch. He has looked over every body who has a cahnce to KO him.

Just because I don't post in NSB on a regular basis don't mean ****. It's people like you, that like to attack everybody when they have an opinion is why I don't. Now **** off.

You're insane. Did Peter not have a chance to KO him? Did Wlad not sign that fight in 2 seconds?

Wlad wanted Maskaev, and still wants him if you read the interview, he's still giving him a couple of days. But Briggs got pissed because of the Maskaev waiting game, and signed with DKP. So he's out. It's very hard to make a fight without options with DKP unless it's a huge fight. That was Briggs' choice. I can't say I blame him, because he'll get a shot at a title this way, too. But that happened simply because Wlad wanted to unify the division. And what other available opponent is now more worthy of a shot at Wlad's title than Brock? Think, kid.

No I didn't read the interveiw. I'm not saying that Brock doen't deserve the fight. Just saying that he's not ready for Wlad. I live in Charlotte and know some real close people to Brock. I have seen him fight ring side and have seen him fight just about every fight that he has had. This is not a good match up. Wlad knows this. Everybody should know this.

Wlad had no choice but to fight Peter in order to save a carrer that was headed south. IMO if they were to fight again I think Peter could win.

What ever happened to the talk of Liakovich? That would be a better match up than Brock. I'm just saying that it seems to me that Wlad doesn't want to take fights that might pose a danger for him.

...Good stuff and I find it very interesting that he is fighting Brock now. Brock is obviously more deserving than Briggs and that win will earn Wlad more respect from the boxing fans. However, Brock is still a dead man walking and he is far less risky than Briggs. The few hardcore Brock supporters on here will be back pedaling very soon now.
