Liakhovich / Briggs in the Works!!! Klitschko likely to face Maskaev

DKP INKS BRIGGS, LIAKHOVICH-BRIGGS IN THE WORKS!

    By G. Leon

**********.com has been informed that Don King Productions has inked heavyweight contender Shannon Briggs to an exclusive promotional agreement, with an eye towards matching Briggs against WBO heavyweight champion Sergei Liakhovich. Briggs has been in long discussions for a fight with IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, but evidently Briggs grew tired of waiting. Where this leaves Klitschko's November 11 HBO date at Madison Square Garden is unclear at the moment, but newly crowned WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev now appears to be in the drivers seat to land a coveted fight against Klitschko. Shelly Finkel, Klitschko's advisor is out of the country and unavailable for immediate comment. Briggs attorney, Michael Borao was also unavailable for immediate comment. More to follow. Remember where you heard it first!

Wow, what the hell is Wlad's problem??
Be a man and take the tougher fight.
(Yes I think Briggs is tougher than Maskaev)

        AWESOME NEWS

Good for everyone involved. This way if Briggs wins, he has more of a right to get a fight with Wladimir. The winner of Liakhovich-Briggs will DEFINITELY call out Wlad, and THAT is how you unify the division, fellas. I'm also assuming Wladimir walks over Maskaev by the way. Still, big props to all 4 guys involved in this. They are going to do what Byrd, Vitali, Ruiz, and Brewster never got close to.

Assuming this news is true, this just shows you that in order to fight King's fighters, King has to own you. That's why Wlad will never fight Liakhovich.

I'm not buying this news; I haven't seen anything on boxingscene or ESPN.com, my two trusted sources for boxing news.

Wlad and Mayweather need to get out of this bull**** routine of fighting in April and waiting til November to fight again. If I was in this game, I would fight at least every 4-5 months and get out early enough to still have my wits. If you fight in April, then fight again by September. What's so hard about that?
