You’re clearly too ****** to grasp the reasons why berchelt was a favorite vs Valdez, why Valdez was still able to be successful and how that approach doesn’t necessarily translate into a fight with Stevenson based on the significant difference in styles. ok, let’s pretend for a minute that you’re not a completely biased Mexican and actually a boxing fan. If you were, you’d know that styles make fights and just because Reynoso came up with a good plan yesterday to beat Berchelt, it doesn’t mean he’d be as successful in creating a plan for Valdez to beat Stevenson. I know you always go for the “who has he beat” argument but again, if you know boxing, you can tell that Stevenson is legit and the approach that Valdez took yesterday to effectively counter a fighter who constantly comes forward punching with minimal defense, won’t be as effective against a southpaw with a good jab who also uses the ring effectively. Since Canelo is your guy, let’s make this comparison, it would’ve been like comparing how Canelo did vs Angulo to how Canelo did vs Lara in his very next fight. Night and day styles and approaches. Canelo looked great in one of those fights and not so great in the next. Similar comparison to what I made in this thread with Morales beating a prime Pac but then losing to Zahir Raheem in his very next fight. True or false?Comment

who said anything about ko??! You’re the only one who keeps bringing that up. Did Zahir Raheem punch hard? Dude had a 53% ko percentage and he beat Morales. How many people said Floyd couldn’t punch above 140 yet still didn’t take an L at welterweight or jmw. With Stevenson, he’s only 23 and has had 4 stoppage wins in his last 7 fights. Let’s not go overboard and pretend he’s Paulie Malignaggi. Is it really that hard for you guys to admit that stylistically Stevenson might pose a threat to Valdez? It’s like some of you fans just want to hear that Valdez will walk right through him with ease, and I don’t see that happening.Comment

Seriously though, these new age cats think that they deserve to face the guys that have put in work for a decade just because they beat 15 bums in a row. Valdez would smash Shakur. Valdez has fought through a broken jaw. Fought on the biggest stage. I’d say Shakur would have a case if he had at least 20 wins with some of those coming against higher tier opponents. But who the hell has this guy beaten to even be considered an opponent much less the victor against a two division, undefeated veteran who has been putting in work for nearly a decade? These same dudes will tell you that Fernando Vargas career was cut short because they put him in with the big dogs too early. But Shakur Stevenson deserves a fight? Incredibly ridiculous.Comment
