    I don’t. I don’t care.

Lomachenko blew it by removing the rematch clause. Teo can now GGG him and wait as long as he wants to give him the rematch.

I have no desire to see the 2nd but playing devils advocate I will say the reason will be cause lomachenko was having wifi problem and didnt get to download the entire data till it was too late.

Who could he fight to satisfy his hunger for money if not Lomachenko 2?

There’s plenty more fights to make.
Haney vs Lopez is not happening.

Davis vs Lopez is not happening.

Garcia vs Lopez is not happening.

So which "plenty of fights" are you talking about here?

Teofimo Lopez's minimum purse requirement is $5 million.

which makes me wonder....was teo the one believing he had it in control and slowed down in the 2nd half of the fight in order to preserve himself? was loma really coming on and yet somehow lopez was able to pull it together and thwart that momentum in the 12th?

left me puzzled because loma seemed to be taking control of the 2nd half of the fight
Watching it live, I felt like Loma had Lopez figured a little bit, and that Lopez was fading, mentally and physically, and he was on the verge of being stopped.

I think Lopez found something in that 12th round though. Maybe he ran out of gas in 8-11 and knew he could give it his all in that last round.

12th rounds to me are generally hard to score because they are all heart and effort rounds by both guys a lot of times, in close fights anyway. I think that one was pretty clear for Lopez but both guys had some good effort.

It was really the only round in the fight where both guys were throwing a lot of punches. Just an odd fight to analyze, but I enjoyed in the whole way through when I watched it.

def an odd fight to analyze...i still havent watched it a 2nd time to be honest...i watched that with my father and he passed away two weeks later.....in my recollection i dont remember loma giving much effort in that last round to be honest(but i admit i should prob watch again)...i just remember thinking "wow loma...what was that" ...maybe it was just in contrast to the prior rounds he seemed to be taking over....

Sorry for your loss my friend. Looks like you got some good time in with him though. That's what it is all about.

Yeah I've only watched it once as well. My initial impression was that it was a clear Lopez round, but Loma at least threw some punches in that round. I swear there were 1 or 2 rounds in the first 6 where I didn't count any landed punches for Loma. I don't know if he threw any in one of those rounds.

I just re-watched the fight on Saturday and to be honest, while it was a solid fight, it was far from a memorable or great fight. So I can't imagine anyone wanting to see the rematch because the action was so great and the rematch will be another barn burner.

Is the reason for wanting Lopez to rematch Lomachenko because some folks still haven't come to grips with Lopez beating Lomachenko? Is it because Lomachenko had a lot more success in the later rounds until the 12th round? Is it because both father and son talked so much crap before the fight and then went on and delivered with their performance?

What is it? Because it was Lomachenko's inept decision to take the rematch clause out of the contract just because Sr got in his head. That was an all time blunder on his and his team's part.

While I wouldn't mind the rematch at all, I just won't lose any sleep if we don't get it. I prefer to see Lopez with the other youngsters over the rematch. Lomachenko's excuses after the fight were endless and rivaled Wilder's after the Fury fight...Maybe not to that extent but it has been pretty bad.

End of the day, Lomachenko faced a green fighter who had only gone past the 7th round one time in his career and wasn't able to capitalize for whatever reason. I think he blew his chance and I don't foresee a rematch happening unless it becomes a big money fight......Which it won't. If Lopez wants a big PPV fight, that will be against either Tank or Garcia.
It can’t happen no more. Lopez cant make that weight no more. Mute point.

I personally don't care about rematches. Rematches slow boxing down, especially in a sport where it takes years to make meaningful fights happen. I'd rather see fighters move on to the next chapter of their careers. Life is too short and I'd rather see variety.

As for the question in the thread, there was no other option for Lopez at that time to justify his asking price, which was $5 million minimum, according to him.
