As a world champion rated against other world champions I think he was better than average so I give him a B grade.

B+ Got away with too much when he was the home fighter, got a gift against Collazo and was saved against Lazcano but he has Tszyu and Castillo on his record even though both guys were past prime at that stage (although Tszyu was still at the top). Not much defense outside of mauling, hitting and holding but his offense was relentless. Almost everyone he faced (including Floyd) seemed shell-shocked in the early rounds at how much pressure they were being put under so early in the fight. Pac was the only one who really welcomed it and used it to his advantage. Wicked body puncher. He was seen as no.1 at 140 for a significant amount of time, won the IBF, WBA and WBC at the weight. Great career overall, I just think his limitations, gifts in fights he should've lost, ducking Witter, and blowing up in weight in between fights (which shortened his career) keeps him from being an A fighter.

            B-

I'm grading as a C being a passable world champion, and I have him two grades above that but no more.

He was a "good" world champion but nothing exceptional other than his fanbase.

A solid C-. His best win is an old Tszyu who I don't really rate that highly. He beat Paulie back when Paulie was still pretty good, so that's a plus. I thought he lost against Collazo. Castillo was way past it when he fought Hatton. I didn't like the way Hatton fought.
