Probably. Why would he? He gains nothing from it. He’s 43, a future HOFer, a living legend, has already fought better fighters than Crawford, Crawford is not a PPV star, not even close, and Crawford lacks a good resume anyway. So if he wins, people will just say Crawford got exposed. If Pac loses, well that’s a loss for little money. It’s a lose-lose for Pacquiao. If he’s going to lose he wants it worth his while. Which is understandable. At 43 he has nothing to prove.

Question for you is, if you were in Pacquiao’s shoes, would you fight Crawford? Or would you look for more established opponents who have shown good PPV potential?

Pandemic aside, $40m doesn’t even seem like a stretch for someone of Pacquiao’s status. It’s probably no less than he would have made in a McGregor fight, which would be a guaranteed win, and it’s not even close to his biggest purse.

Besides, Canelo was getting over $30m per fight with DAZN and AJ made significantly more than $40m in his rematch against Ruiz. Pacquiao is probably bigger than both in terms of drawing power, certainly far more accomplished, and would be facing the #1 or 2 p4p fighter in the world as a 43 year old underdog.

Save the pricing out talk for the boxers out there asking for multiples of their biggest purse who have no more then 1/2 highlight wins to their name.

I think it's a personal vendetta between these 2. Manny wants his money back from Bob and that’s how he wants it. That fight is never happening, neither this nor Spence. Manny will wait until crowds are allowed and will fight a smaller guy, probably Mikey or Ryan Gracia and then retire. Believe it or not the Ryan Garcia fight makes the most sense for him right now but it's a huge risk for Ryan at that stage of his career.

Pac should not mention people that he doesn’t actually intend to fight. He is raising expectations but seemingly is just blowing smoke.... and he is also holding up the division cause everyone wants that Pc legacy fight. Pac should just keep a low profile and take the easy fights he wants (he deserves it and has nothing to prove).

This is hardly true at all. Pacquaio’s historical standing definitely went up after the Thurman win, and if he was to beat a prime Crawford at 43 years of age, then best believe it would go up even more. I’d say his legacy would surpass Mayweather even though he lost to him, in the same way that Duran is seen as greater than Hearns, even though he lost to him by first round KO. And many people would agree.

Provided Pacquaio gets the figure he wants, Crawford not being a PPV star is completely irrelevant and redundant by the fact Pac is getting his money regardless.

Pac fighting Crawford at his advanced age is a legacy fight like no other, and real fans of the fight game would know this. There’s no way this is a lose-lose.

Well atleast he mentioned the fight specifically and gave his demands.

              Now let's see this goes.

My guess this fight never happens? Bob is notorious for being cheap

I'm sure some would pay £1million for his signature alone

                  Welp. Now it's out there.

Let's watch how Bob and his Saudi money bluff embarasses himself.

It's crazy, how come they strip Pacquiao for not wanting to be active at 147 yet he is targeting a champion at 147?

40 Mill is a bit much for thrifty Bob right now though, hell he is looking to pay his own fighters like Teo bottom Dollar or nothing.

Pandemic times don't seem to be the best time to be demanding massive money, especially when you just lost your belt.
