Champ I still have memories of you in Detroit

I also have the photo of you and a group of us while you were pigging out on a Cobo Area hot dog at the fights! Leon being Leon

The first fight was a lot better than people remember. Think it may have got Ring Magazine FOTY. It was definitely upset of the year. Both guys were running on empty in that 15th round but just kept on exchanging.

New Orleans 1978. Neon Leon rocked the world. Whatever else happened since, he achieved something great, something monstrous. All of us, pushing keys, we got no idea what it must mean to truly make history!

I've heard conspiracy theorists say Ali lent Leon the title just to become 3 time H/W champion. Look at R15 & Ali is doing everything to try to get a last minute KO. No way at all he wants to 'lend out' that title. Leon took it on merit.
